Doping makes a good point, if they posted this to their facebook/twitter then they have the numbers to win. I guess the one thing was the numbers jumped fast and no one looked at their facebook/twitter to line up the time frame then the one post that was for Lenovo was by a Lenovo employee so that put some stink to it. Congrats Lenovo good job. I'm sure it will be fun to play on that device. :)

  • B 4 Reals - 11 years ago

Doping it is not the popularity we are frustrated over. it is the algorithmic updating and static amounts the pools go up by. it is at an even interval Lenovo's votes accelerated which is not indicative of a natural pattern. Also William Merendoni's stilted praise of Lenovo is horribly written and phrased

  • doping - 11 years ago

Come on guys don't be stupid. Lenovo didn't manipulate this vote using bots or whatever... This allegation is ridiculous.
Lenovo has 430.000 facebook likes and 30.000 twitter follower. When they post a link to this poll on their pages it is absolutley logical that they will get the more votes than Oculus who have 2700 likes on the facebook page...
So this poll is anything but representative.

Gaming tablets, even larger tablets, a portable console, iPad DJ controls or a rist band... Come one this is no competition.
I love the Rift. I'm so looking forward to buy the consumer version. And from this six products the Rift is DEFINATELY the most innovative and groundbreaking technology. The rest is probably nice, but nothing that special.

  • JNava - 11 years ago

Hmm...Lenovo is getting 1-5 votes every minute. The rest are barely getting any votes. It's definitely being run by bots which is unfair and should be disqualified.

Regardless if Lenovo wins the award, the Oculus Rift will win by default, as its already being praised by numerous tech jounalists. When the devkit comes in 2 months where 10,000 backers can finally get their hands on one, there will be tons of reviews and articles about it, people had already forgotten about the 27" tablet. Sorry for trying Lenovo, but the hype has already begun.

oculus rift should win this poll!!

listen guys if you look at the page of the poll you will see 4 different advert banners of Lenovo

    something is wrong here...

OCULUS RIFT to win! An incredible, product that will change the nature of gaming forever. The others.. not so much.

Something fishy with Lenovo votes for sure. Huge spike in such short time.

  • Matt - 11 years ago

Have to agree. Lenovo recieved 2000 votes overnight! From 300 to 2300+ ?? Cheaters!

  • 100 year old guy - 11 years ago

i will confess that i'm from lenovo, but i have to say that the our table(t) pc is not *that* inovative, but it's a nice piece of hardware that a lot of people find interesting...

But regarding the votes, i don't know whats up with that, but from my opinion, Lenovo would never do something like that. It would be a waste of money and there are clearly better ways to advertise a product.

But i can't wait till the oculus is available for purchase and i order mine, finaly somebody did the right thing with a VR headset, and it can be promissing!
Oh and i voted for oculus :)

  • B 4 Reals - 11 years ago

I KNEW SOMETHING WAS UP. William is an employee and his statement was starchy postering like a read statement. I consider the proportionate amount the votes have accelerated to be unethical

  • Carl Kenner - 11 years ago

I suspect Lenovo is cheating somehow. Their vote suddenly shot up from nothing, while Oculus had a huge lead from the start and Razer was slowly creeping up.

William Merendoni who commented on the Lenovo, is a Lenovo employee, which he should have disclosed. His comment isn't untrue, the Lenovo is all those things, and I would have voted it second, but the Oculus Rift gets an astounding level of praise from ordinary people and reviewers, even while it's employees like Palmer and Nate are talking it down and telling people not to buy it and how it's not good enough yet!

Seriously, look at the reviews of Oculus at CES. Like this one from The Verge (at about 35 minutes in):

I have to agree, something is fishy. If they are legit then good for lenovo. But I have a hard time that an oversized tablet with 2 hours of battery life would take the win. I hope a little investigating/authenticating takes place.

    Oculus Rift FTW!!!

  • GamerGuy - 11 years ago

Nice vote manipulation there Lenovo..... Your product isn't that innovative.

  • MR - 11 years ago

I hope they have a means of authenticating the individual votes. I find it completely irregular that the Rift and the Razer Edge were steadily building votes for a few hours, then out of completely nowhere it seems, the Lenovo jumps from 20 or so votes to !300! votes. My personal opinion is that Lenovo's device is not all that impressive compared to some others on this list (and I respect your opinion if you voted for it, it's your opinion and I'm not here to bash), but did everyone at the same time suddenly have an epiphany and decide to go and vote for Lenovo? And practically all the comments are for the Rift! Something seems very fishy... I hope it's reviewed. But if by some odd chance all of those votes are legitimate, then I apologize for my accusations. I just hope whichever company/product wins is the deserving one.

So I thought it seemed Lenovo was being fishy here and looked up the guy who sounded like a bot trying to sell me the tablet. Here he is on Linkedin; he is a LENOVO EMPLOYEE. Please remove the product from this poll, they are clearly cheating for votes. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/william-merendoni/20/334/781

  • rayen - 11 years ago

the sony xperia z is missing here in the vote cases !

  • Matty Monticello - 11 years ago

The Oculus Rift is definitely getting all the REAL votes. Bots or Lenovo employees are the only ones I see voting for the giant tablet... Even on every CES video I have seen so far the journalists said the Rift was the most amazing thing there. You guys should check to see where the Lenovo votes are coming from because it is not legit

  • Sobering Thought - 11 years ago

@Volte6 It could also be that the people voting for the tablet are a different demographic from those who comment.

  • Volte6 - 11 years ago

Hmm, something is definitely fishy. All of the comments here are regarding the oculus rift except one which appears to be a shill... and yet the Lenovo tablet is constantly marginally ahead of the rift. I smell a rat. Either somebody is cheating the voting, or this poll is rigged.

  • Plusy - 11 years ago

Oculus rift is by far the most amazing device of 2013 !

  • B 4 Reals - 11 years ago

I find it odd that Lenovo jumped 300 votes in an hour's time and that the comment by Mr. Merendoni here sounds too idiosyncratic to be normal diction. I sure hope the folks at Lenovo are not trying to cheat the poll

  • That'll sell. - 11 years ago

Just reading the descriptions of all of them... The Rift clearly takes the cake. Who the heck wants the party crap or the life tracker.

    VR all the way.

  • William Merendoni - 11 years ago

Lenovo Horizon, very creative idea. Interactive gaming, full desktop both touch and wireless.
It takes family entertainment to the next level. Nice Job Lenovo!

  • Larry Olson - 11 years ago

Oculus Rift is the future of gaming and everything else. Once the main stream public gets a hold of this, you will see Oculus being talked about by everyone. This technology is going to save and set a standard in the videogame industry.

Cheers to the Oculus team! You guys deserve all the success coming your way.

  • AC - 11 years ago

Oculus Rift is truly a ground breaking piece of hardware, especially as the world has been waiting with bated breath since 1990 for a decent VR experience when so much was hyped and promised!

  • Volte6 - 11 years ago

Gee, another tablet-handheld gaming device, or a device that puts you in another world in VIRTUAL FREAKIN' REALITY! Metaverse, anyone?

  • J Elvas - 11 years ago

Razer is to expensive for a tablet, sony ericson is awsome but canĀ“t beat oculus rift, nvidea streamer is a dream!

  • VR fan - 11 years ago

oculus rift is the best ^^
