20 years as a police officer. The only people I've seen unlawfully use guns were criminals who did not care about the law. Those who think people who use guns to rob and kill are going to obey gun control law are a special kind of stupid.

The main problem in this country is the punishment does not fit the crime. Just like that crazy that killed his Grandmother with a hammer. Why should he have ever been back on the streets to kill those innocent Firemen? If he had been exicuted right after his crime like he should have been, problem solved. Plus as already stated, the best way to stop a bad person with a weapon {gun, knife, club, ect. Is a good person with a gun. No matter how many laws they make the criminals do not care and will not abide by them. They only understand death and fear of a person with a gun.

It's not the guns that kill people. It's people killing people. If a person has the will to hurt others with or without guns they will find away. Has America forgot 911 I haven't. It wasn't guns they used. They used planes and box cutters. Wake up AMERICA!!

I carrie a hand gun and have for years, I have a concealed Carrie permit and I am legel most every where exept Illinois and DC. Chicago and DC are the only 2 cities I've been in where an occasion arose where I felt I mite need a gun. Moreover Chicago is the only city where I have been offered a pistol to buy on the street on more than one occasion.

I agree.guns don't kill people. I've never seen a gun just hop out of the gun cabinet and go crazy on everyone in the house.all these rules we now have are fine but that isent going to stop the people that shouldn't have guns from getting them.why keep making new laws against the honest people.criminals will always find a way around the system.Lets put a little more thought in this...!

No amount of gun control will stop the criminally insane from committing acts of unconscionable horror and loss of innocent life. Responsible, law abiding citizens have the right to keep and bear arms as a sport shooting enthusiast or hunter. What we need is more security in our schools on a national level. That includes other schools like a Sandy Hook elementary. Nuff said.

Restrictions are plenty tight enough. The government has been trying for years to disarm the American public and will use any cause or way to accomplish this. I really don't think it would bother our government to make felons of everyone as most people try to be law abiding citizens and wouldn't possess one any more. The US contains 5% of worlds population and contains 25% of people locked up worldwide. Now you can think about those figures and draw your own conclusion. Always remember as we say-big trucks and cars don't kill people. People kill people. That being said -- Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

I think our goofy president has forgotten about our 5th Amendment, which gives us the rights as American citizens to bare arms. I am a old member of the NRA and proud of it. Gun safety is something I grew up with in our family of hunters. To always clean and respect the fire arm you are using. So the laws we have on the books now about fire arms is enough for all of us..
