Definitely keep the linen closet. Don't ask your bathroom to perform too many functions. Sure it would be more convenient not too have to run down to the basement but do you really want to hear the noise of the machines not to mention the buildup of heat on the second floor on a day like this. Also, if you don't already, try hanging the clothes out on a clothesline to dry. It's really not that onerous a task once you get in the habit and make it part of your routine. Of course it helps if you have an exit directly to the outside from your basement or laundry room but I manage just fine without it. It can really help save on the electric bill, cut down heat in the house and gets you and your little ones outside. Anyway, good luck to you whatever you decide!
