The judges made the wrong decision and unworthy to seat as a judges. Either they are ignorant of the rules or they simply create their own rules in despair. They even discussed about talking to the chairman when the chairman was not around. Chefs Mendelsohn and Vigneron made a very good choice and that is creative and not as disrespectful that plays in the minds of the judges. The judges were simply unprepared for that circumstances and they have taken it to their own rules. They plated together and they are not breaking any rules that they cannot plate together. With this either the judges sent them both home or let them continue. It is the judges that breaks the rules not the chefs.

I would have sent Alton Brown home! his verbiage every week is beginning to get to me. He should try Chopped for a change! For once he should do the walk , or cook, and stop the talk. What a pretentious piece of work. Remindends me like the precocious middle school kid that thinks that knows so much but really is only masking his insecurity. I bet he would be out even before he finishes thinking what to cook. Regarding the two brochefs well I like their bravado and I don't think they were playing the judges rather the judges are the ones that are taking themselves way too seriously. Come on they are merely food tasters , Zararian excepted of course. However I think they reached the correct decision , sent home the least talented. SO lets get Alton in the next Iron Chef competition pleaseeee

My husband and I love Iron Chef America and the Next Iron Chef series. But this episode and how it was handled has lessened our respect and our enjoyment. Those 2 displayed an extreme lack of respect for the competition, the judges, the other contestants and the prize of being an Iron Chef.

I think the judges made the right choice. Both dishes may have been served on the same plate but they were distinct. If they had cooked one dish together then I would have sent both home. And no matter what the circumstance, I would have given them both a stern talking to and let them understand that next time...
