If indeed DPP chairperson Tsai Ing-wen adopts no hard line pro Independence stance it will clear the dark clouds hanging in the sky - a brighter days for Taiwan. Taiwan will be breathing a bout of fresh air. The issue of fighting for Taiwan Independence has split Taiwan and its people deeply. DPP labelled non supporters of Taiwan Independence as Chinese not Taiwanese. And where are DPP Taiwanese originated from? All those support DPP are natives of Taiwan? you mean they are the Alisan natives!!!. The fact is 90% of Taiwanese have Chinese roots. They eat with chopsticks, write Chinese words, read Chinese literature, and most of all recognise Dr. Sun Yat San as Father of Taiwan. Given the chance, if Chen Shui Bian were to continue to be President for another 8 years he will also plan to remove this history of Dr. Sun.(But towards the last days of his Presidency he acknowledged that his forefathers were from Fujian Province). Why? Want to FIGHT China in order to prove to the world you are Taiwanese? as if Taiwanese is a superior race than Chinese. At present the difference lies in the fact Taiwan is proud to have attained full fledged DEMOCRACY with a standard of living generally higher than Chinese. That difference in Standard of living was glaring enough 20 years ago but the gap is fast narrowing .What if tomorrow China change from Communism to Democracy. Nothing is forever or permanent. China can change. And when China changes to Democracy, Taiwanese will be at the forefront to seize the opportunities with its vast untapped resources and big market. Why? Taiwanese is Chinese and no other people from other nations can claim brotherhood to the Chinese than Taiwanese. See how the Taiwanese responded to the Sichuan earthquake disaster!!!. Cheers for new Government who led to show how brother/sister should respond. You ask to live in PEACE others will leave you to do your own thing. You want to fight others will fight you tooth and nail. The silly thing is that you rely on, getting booster from USA, to fight/protect you to fight with China.
