we stayed at the St Ann Hotel on Conti in the French Quarters this Thanksgiving weekend and 2 of our days we had no hot water to shower with. Not any dixie land bands and hard to find bands in the afternoon. We found a good band and the 2nd set they only played Stevie Wonder songs. I will discourage people from going. Drinks are extremely expensive.

Spent 5 days in NO for 4th of July. Do not stay at the St. James Hotel - no airconditioning first night. No cold water. Do not eat at Emeril's NOLA. Took a friend for b'day - food extremely undercooked and expensive. Also, don't go to "MOTHER"S" They have a security guard that is extremely hateful and rude. Do go to an Italian Jewelry Shop on Toulouse St - "Snow Queen" and meet Marianna and Maurizio. Their jewelry is fabulous. Worth the entire trip to NO.
