This is a no brainer - of course they should carry al Jazeera. Long live free speech, as well as media diversity.

Hitler was the first to ban smoking in public places...let us continue in his footsteps and purify the media.

Those who consider Burlington Telecom to be unpatriotic for airing Al-Jazeera should read the U.S. Constitution, particularly the First Amendment. It guarantees freedom of the press. In fact, if it didn't exist, FOX News (seemingly the only source of their opinions and cultural myopia) would probably not exist. Why is it that those who hide behind the Second Amendment usually hate the First? If they don't agree with Al-Jazeera (and, quite honestly I often do myself), they can switch to Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity or any of the homegrown hate-mongers who pollute and dilute journalism.

Al Jazeera should not be allowed to broadcast its propagandist filth on the air in the United States. For all of you tree-hugging no-minds, it would be tantamount to letting Tokyo Rose broadcast on NPR during World War II. Better yet, ask the families of those murdered on September 11, 2001, if it's a good idea. You fools probably think like Bin Laden that it was a good idea to make a skyscraper a desireable final destination for a jet airplane. How do you like living in a country you're helping destroy?

The person entering the post under the false name "Hammer" asserts that Al Jazeera broadcasts "propagandist filth". I have to wonder whether "Hammer" has ever seen an Al Jazeera broadcast or looked at its English language webpage.

As I write this, the Al Jazeera webpage contains articles about China evacuating a flooded region, about a tribe of Amazon Indians on the border between Peru and Brazil and about the World Bank unveiling a $1.2 billion food plan. In Middle East news, there are articles about the Prime Minister of Israel possibly being replaced, about protests in the Gaza Strip over fifteen people having been wounded when the Israeli army fired into a large crowd of protesters, about the U.S. Government pressuring Israel to allow Gaza students to receive Fulbright Scholarships and about suicide bombers attacking the Iraqi police. There's an article about the Taliban having captured a district in Afghanistan and another about a Croatian general being jailed for war crimes.

If that's propaganda, I'll gladly take it over the propaganda the Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan says was used to stampede America into a disastrous war in Iraq.
