Ideally, library users should be able to nominate their preferred notification method.

Every time I receive a hold notice letter I feel so bad that the library is using its funding on postage. As I use internet I can see when a hold is ready to be picked up. It would be great if library users could specify how they wanted to be notified that a hold is available for pick up and in the long run save the libary money

It would be great to be able to specify what you want including NO NOTIFICATION since we go at least once a week to the library.

In addition to saving the library money we also save paper.

SMS I think will cost the library still lots of money but E-mail should be reasonably cost effective and of course no notification is the best.

Cheers
