The goverment do not care for the older person I have worked all my life even put child through private education and university now I have retired I have had to go back to work to pay off a tax bill even though I was PAYE personally I think all the government care about is workers from overseas there entitlements seem to be more important and people who won't work because at the end of the day these people do not save for old age but they will be taken care off and they are not taxed

I opted to pay what was called 'half stamp' when I returned to work when my family were old enough. This was then re titled 'Housewives Allowance' I actually paid almost 3/4 of the full contributions. My government pension is 21p yes £0.21p per week! I've saved all my working life, my company pension went down £6.00 when the new £10% tax was introduced. The poor or folk who have never saved get looked after in countless benefits. The rich don't need to bother. Who looks after 'middle England pensioners'?? At least Robin Hood admitted robbery. How does Gordon Brown sleep at night??

I am now nearly £18 per month, take home pay, worse off than I was last year and that includes the measley state pension and prjvate pension increase, how dare, Gordon Brown state that we will understand the big picture, I do not think that it is hitting his pocket, and how can he justify approving of a pay increase for the cabinet which is way above the rate of inflation, when us pensioners are expected to put up with such a low income and have to pay more for it, no wonder the Labour party is at such a low ebb. The quicker he, and the party, go the better. The labour party are supposed to be for the workers, this lot need to re assess, and get back to brass roots, and look after those who have propped up this country all their working life, and not the imigrants who are using all of our ressorses and preventing the needy of our country receiving the benefits of which they should be entitled to
