Oh God neither, with the RINO, you've got a religious fascist, and with the DINO you've got a strong hawk on the war, but votes with the democrats on everything else. How about Michael Steele?
Here are the reasons we want Lieberman on the ticket: A. Give disgruntled Democrats an alternative to Senator B.O. B. Get Lieberman out of the U.S. Senate so he'll stop making stupid laws (same reason we should vote for McCain) C. Once McCain and Lieberman are elected and safely out of the Senate, Governor Rell will appoint a Republican replacement for Lieberman and we will gain another seat in Congress
Isn't one self absorbed hungry for power nitwit enough on the GOP ticket? At least Lieberman has flashes of humility periodically. Tim's rationale seals it for me. Even if the Dems get a veto proof majority in the House, the Senate will be so close and there's a few Blue Dogs who might swing our way to block the really bad stuff. The thought of McCain at the helm makes me shudder though! I'm not a fan of being force fed stuff I know is wrong for me, and McCain is a pro at it.
@John, Michael Steele has a disaster of a personal financial history, which was well-detailed in the Washington Post a few years ago. He is not anywhere near vice-presidential material, with this rich fodder for oppostion researchers.
Please anyone but Huckabee! What a freak. Since I have already stated that I would vote Democrat this year if Huckabee is anywhere near the ticket. Actually Huck being on TV is almost enough to make me vote Democrat. Why not vote for Lieberman at least he is a moderate Democrat compared with the ultra liberal that will be on the other side.
Can I please review Huckabee's speech at the convention before he gives it? I'd like to know we don't have anymore asassination jokes ahead. Or better yet could we just not invite him to speak. That would be so much kinder to the nation.
Not a Huckabee fan. I like Joementum, though. I was actually hoping he and McCain would team up for an Indy run to really make things interesting. I thought a 3 way contest would be interesting in that scenario. I could accept an Indy John/Joe victory as a 'push' and the nation not surrendering to taxes and terrorism. I'm not so excited about Lieberman on McCain's Republican ticket. Cabinet position sure. Joe deserves better than what the Dems did to him in '06 - but I want to vote a Republican ticket vs. the Dems - not a RINO/DINO ticket. Maybe if you put in a Proviso that Republican X becomes President if McCain dies or something. I'd prefer Pawlenty or Ridge.
Simple: Huckabee is a disaster I won't vote for; Lieberman too old. Might as well pander while we're at it. How about Kay Bailey Hutchison?
I am a conservative. No hyphens, no excuses and I have this view of our political climate and condition. We are in chaos which in my opinion aswers both questions. Like minded are legion. This accounts for the numbers in your poll. We see no way the country's drift to ruin can be reversed given the present makeup of the elite political class which have manipulated themselves into positions of power I will make no bones in predicting a conservative revolution; which will begin in earnest following the dire consequences of 4 (maybe 8) years of liberal governance. Soooo...to make a long time short in comming the liberals the better. We have three lefties in the running for president. Why not add a fourth and nominate Lieberman for Vice President.
While I don't agree with many of Liberman's votes he is clearly a man of integrity, a rarity these days. He contiuned to support the war even when it would have been much better politically for him to switch his position
Are these 2 people?
I'd rather the DINO, lest we further turn the Republican Party into a big government progressive party.
Frankly, I like the fact it would nullify Maverick's presidency as illustrative of mainstream Republican governance, given the stuff he can be expected to pull.
