We all love and support our troops 110% but, do you think they should still be overseas?

Take a look a world history and you'll see we're nuts to be trying to force change. I've been reading a lot to help my son with his high school world history class... with the long pattern of turmoil in that area and the empires that have risen and fallen, it's hard to imagine that we would charge in there with the notion we could change what people think -and this is to help people that live a life of religious passion that is based on the goal of wiping the American society out of existence. Go soldiers. We believe in you. But not so much in the officials that put your lives in jeopardy.

We don't need another Vietnam!

As a retired military officer and a vet of Vietnaum, I fully support our mission in the region. It appears to me that the ones who wish we were out of this WAR and that is exactly what it is, really have no clue as to what this country was founded on and what the cost of freedom really is. War is ugly but in some cases it is necessary, just ask the troops what they want and you will be very surprised at their answer. They know why and they except the challange of being in harms way. When you raise your hand to defend this great country you do not put limits as to where that may send you, you except the job and do it to the best of your ability, I spent Two tours in Vietnaum and have no second thoughts as to why we were there. I have seen many things that make me proud to call myself an American Soldier and would gladly do it again. I lost many of my friends there and thank God that my number was not called to the ultimate sacrifice. They started it with the attacks on OUR homeland and now I really think we need to be the ones to end it. If not the USA than who do you think will put and end to this. Remember 911, or I should say, how soon we forget. The cost is high, but stop and think for just a minute, would you rather us be there or maybe you would perfer them to be over here. If we don't put a end to the terror that is ALL over this country and elsewhere it is only a matter of time before they will be here and I for one do not want to see this country in a war here, keep it there until we put and end to it.

I have a son and two grandchildren over there. My son has been in the service for 24 years. I know more than some how hard it is to see them go over there and I worry each time. However if they are not over there fighting for our freedom the enemy will be over here and we will have another 9-11 or worse and more. War is terrible, but it be as long as we have people that have no regard for human life.
