How would you grade Chen Shui-bian’s eight-year administration on a scale from A to F ?您對扁政府八年政績的評價如何？

It's overreacting to grade Chen's administration the way it is today. Wait a couple more decades and then some hindsight and perspective can sink in.

Failing. Poor. Poorest of the poor. One credit must be given, he is Photogenic. Press photographers like to have his photographs taken for all events he took part in, be it performing handing awards, climbing mountains etc and he relishes it. When such Occasion presents itself, he positioned himself for the best shot of the photos . Smiling even when he was in the worst of time such as when the "Red Army" demanding for his resignation or his wife was indicted. Other than that he is good at undercutting/pull the rug under the feet of anyone within his party who tried to undermind his authority of his Presidency (even with the slightest hint). On one occasion when the DPP Presidential candidate Frank Hsieh in his campaign speech suggested that Taiwan be free of the restriction on the cross straits flight he jumped and shot back "I AM THE BOSS AND WHAT HSIEH SAID IS JUST FOR ELECTION CAMPAIGN". In short I am one and the only absolute leader of the LOVE TAIWAN party. And all those in the cabinet who followed and agreed without question can do what they like. (He will replace those who stood up). He will take full responsibilities. " I apologise, I regret and I am sorry for what had happened" followed by a deep bow. President job done. Matter will soon be forgotton and blow over.
