This is just another example of a "touchy/feely" feel good ploy.

Any time you lower taxes like capital gains or personal taxes, the revenue to the government skyrockets. Lowering mitigation fees for developers, or getting rid of them will stimulate building.

YES! Building fees have skyrocketed in Amador Co in recent years and many developers have backed out of projects due to the fees. Even private landowners wishing to build a home are hit with fees in the 10's of thousands of dollars. A new homebuilder I talked to recently has a Recreation Fee alone of around $4000! Yet the Plymouth pool can't open due to lack of funds.... go figure.
We are contractors...the jobs have dried up all over. I know we buy locally, our employees buy locally...of course it would help the economy in Amador County if work would pick up!

This could create some much needed jobs in our county.

I BUILT TWO HOMES IN ELDORADO CO OVER A PERIOD OF 20 YRS. RECENTLY I MOVED TO FLORIDA, BUT MY WIFE AND I NOW HAVE 2 GRANDCHILDREN IN CALIF. WE WOULD LIKE TO BUILD IN AMADOR COUNTY BUT GUESS WHAT TO EXPENSIVE SO WE WILL BE BUYING SOMETHING IN EITHER ELDORADO, AMADOR, OR AUBURN. IN 1979 MY BLDG PERMIT WAS 1200.00 IN ELDORADO CO AND 2000 BLDG. FEE WAS 12,000.00 IT PROBABLY WOULD COST 35,000.00 TODAY AND THAT IS CRAZY. YOU WOULD THINK THE COUNTIES WOULD WANT THE REVENUES AND LOCAL BUSINESSES COULD USE MY MONEY TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES.
