Obama won 92% of the black vote here in Philly--even though the black mayor endorsed Clinton. Yes, black voters are voting based on race, and will continue to do so in North Carolina. With black voters making up over 40% of the vote, a win by Hillary is nearly impossible.

The educated voters of NC realize that her pandering over the gas tax holiday is simply the same Old Clinton Politics of the past and.. what they can continue to expect.

Obama has to poll above 50% of respondants to lock a win. He has underperformed in the actual voting by 4% or more in every primary election to date due to the Bradley Effect. If there is a 4 to 6% Bradley Effect among Democrats, count on a 10 to 15% Bradley Effect in the general election, if Obama gets the Democratic Nomination. For me, a vote for Obama is a vote for McCain, since I will not vote for Obama in the general election, not after Rev. Wright or other revelations about who Obama counts as friends and mentors. Hillary is the best candidate to face the republicans in the fall, it's our loss that she'll probably never make it until then. A few months back I planned to vote for Obama if he beat her for the nomination but all that has changed. I will vote for McCain over Obama since learning more about him.

Senator Obama will win in NC, but not because of character or substance. This is a black vote, albeit, Obama is bi-racial. While it is understandable that he will secure 85% of the black vote, he will never beat the Republicans in the general election. No matter how close Obama's political and religious views are to Rev. It is difficult to read the postings that seem so angry. I don't know what others life experience has been but it really saddens me. I know good and bad people of all races. Back in the 1950's I championed the black cause by befriending the only two little black girls in my scout troop and played with them as felt bad about the way others treated them. They couldn't have been any sweeter but color mattered back then. In 1960's as President of employee club I invited the black workers to the company party's a first and I was chastized heavily and eventually lost my job because of it. In 1970-80's having a disabled child, she was the only white girl in the special class and I invited each and everyone of them to her birthday parties and overnights.

Now I am an old white woman in 2008, I was mesmerized by the eloquent speech abilities of Obama and had high hopes that maybe we were ready for a black President finally. However, that freshness staled with the more and more associations that attached themselves to showing although he is a great speaker, he doesn't show a clear picture on the issues that are important to this country now.

I watched all the debates and Hillary frankly knows what needs to be done, and how to do it and Obama just isn't equipped to handle all these problelms and doesn't have the know how to get things done in Washington. He isn't ready and based on the comments here, the country isn't quite ready for a black President.

Another decade everyone will be tan (spanish/black/white mix) and race will no longer be an issue then substance will be important. That day will come but probably not in my lifetime. This is a step towards that end, and there will be another Obama come along who is better prepared.

I would like to see Hillary win and appoint one of the black politicians that have supported her on fox news as her running mate. A woman President and a black Vice-President. A perfect ticket. I won't name names but there are several black persons highly qualified to serve with her and she should pick one. No means to an end- this is who he is. Obama did not change how he felt about Jeremiah Wright until it was clear that he had no regard for the man & his campaign. He tried to only denounce his statements & not the man- that is the honorable thing to do. As most educated people that worship know, you do not worship the preacher- hello?!?! Rev. Wright has had a positive impact on so many people and I believe Obama to be one of them- that is who brought him to his Christian faith. Marlene... I know this sounds funny or strange, but I thank God for slavery. I am a 22 year USAF vet. In those 22 years I saw many places on our planet. Lived in 7 countries, and speak from experience when I say we live in the BEST country on the face of the earth. Perfect, no not perfect, compared to all the others, THE BEST. However I am a believer that when new facts emerge which change the overall picture one should adjust to better deal with the new information for the best end result. So flip flops or lies shouldn't deter one from voting for someone because EVERYONE has to do that!
