Did Ricky Gervais go too far or not far enough?

To tell the truth, I am just about sick of just how many different award shows that entertainers "use" to boost their egos. My goodness, poor things don't realize that they are JUST entertainers; not exceptional people. Laughable.

"This is what they air on primetime for children to watch?"

The GG were held from 8-11pm, EST you seriously let your children stay up that late to watch TV ? Furthermore, knowing that there are going to be jokes and 'bleeped' dialogue, as a parent YOU should know better!

Ricky Gervais is one of the TOP comedians in the world! Highly sought after, it was well known he was going to be hosting the GG's this year again, this being his 3rd. As parents, it was up to you to decided whether to tune your TV's for 'family night' and welcome the GG's into your living rooms. As a parent of 2 grown children, I always took the initiative to always know what my children were watching. What was acceptable and what wasn't!
It wasn't only the "host", it was the winners as well! The same "American actors & singers", that you allow your children to idolize. Whose records you buy, whose movies you go and see.

The "bad language" doesn't have to be used to get the point across. However, why do we idolize these people called "actors" - they are at the top of the list when it comes to being elite. Why do we continue to contribute to their jet setting escapades, outrageously over-the-top weddings and just their life-style in general. They get up in front of us and are so proud of themselves for donating a million dollars to Haiti - a million dollars is pocket change for them. Have you seen some of the mansions they live in - a small city of homeless could live in them. Talk about spreading the wealth!!!

Why is filth, and being a bully to adults, OK'd on what is supposed to be an otherwise very nice evening show? It seems to be a reflection of what has been happening to our country's declining morals and intelligence. Remember, "Profanity is ignorance made audible".
We are trying to teach our children that being a bully is wrong; then we show it on TV as comedy! DUH !!!

An arrogant British comedian drinking alcohol, swearing, making disturbing sexual and defecating references all while mocking America.

This is what happens when we let people decide what's right and wrong - you get foul mouthed hosts that see no lines and think that only vulgarity and lewdness are entertaining.

I did not enjoy the golden globes it was so boring and the hosts comments were disgusting this was suppose to be a night which could be open to all the family to see. Be sure to host someone next year that will not put you to sleep boring and less with such a filthy mouth.!!!!!
