I don't use forums because they take too long to get answers to questions. It's like messenger pigeon. Maybe live forums would be a better suited alternative.
Another gripe is what they do to search engines. 9 times out of 10 when I Google search a question forums pop up with the top searches and only pull on part of my search and never answer my question correctly. Making it hard to get to meat and potatoes of what I'm actually looking for.
My opinion?!
I rarely visit a forum to find anything on web development. Most of my questions are answered using a simple search on Google.
