I don't see it as racy and i'am sure the monitors/overseer's of these ads proably don't see it as racy to themselves, however as distrubing as it is to think about they have to view it from the
point as a child molestor, pedophile or sexual predator of children.
What's soo sad is that this ad will be cut out and added to child pronography of some pedophile, I do understand why they choose to do this.
I would LOVE a world were we didn't have to worry
about such dangerous people, reality has to
be faced and combated for all childrens sake.

Bass ackwards conservatism holding back the progress of our society, as usual.

She's been sexually viable for 3-4 years, meaning she's both physically and mentally capable of and should be enjoying sex, the fundamental human experience.

Instead, people would rather she reach that magical age of exactly 18, where suddenly her entire body changes into something *completely* different, and she's also now mentally mature enough to have sex, whereas the day before- even minutes before- it's a horrid crime.

Until this nonsense involving teen sex, which is not an issue, is put aside and considered normal human activity (as it was designed to be, per the development of the body), we will continue to waste the resources that should be fighting *actual children* being sexually abused.

Lastly, *no one* pays attention to ads so much as to analyze them for hidden meanings... "Oh, she's young and has the bottle between her legs! Hmm.. I should put something between my legs too!" Flat nonsense.

I will not be the least bit shocked when Conservatives start pushing for women to start wearing head-to-toe clothing so as not to subject our society to the horrors of attractive young women... we might see ankle skin! Gasp!

You do realize that in 3 1/2 months she will be 18 years old, and legally able to do full hard core porn. Get a grip people. She is not a child, and the ad is in no way over the top.

when you first look at the pic, you cannot help but look at the bottle between her legs..and then the eyes move towards the 'slope on her dress' just before the bottle..it wrong to look at a child like that..if she were 18 yrs then it would be fine.

I don't think this ad is too racy. She is a young girl, so what is the purpose of the perfume bottle, other than to sell perfume?

Besides, the bottle is way too big for her to use as a "toy", so why the fuss?

She's dressed more conservatively than I'd imagine most 17 year olds are these days. She's an attractive 17-year-old, how is she going to be featured in an advertisement and not appear sexy? Maybe dress her up like a Muslim woman in Iran and cover her face while you're at it.

So annoying how people think everything is either pedophilia, which is a sexual attraction to children who haven't gone through puberty yet, or sexual exploitation of a child. I'd say its time for people to wake up to the world in which 'children' are living and accept that they are just as much participants as everyone else.

I have no doubt that the company chose her because she is (popular, of course) but lots of women/girls are popular. I have no doubt they chose her because she looks sexy. I have no doubt they show some bare leg because it is sexy. I have no doubt they put the bottle of perfume by her groin because it is sexy. I have no doubt they did many things about that ad because it is sexy.

That much right there turns me off to buying their product.

But the fact that they did all that with what America would label as an underage girl is what makes it unacceptable.

    Morality has a meaning.

Kids in high school would not be able to do this or they would get in trouble. Why is okay here? Because she is an actress/model? Double standards in society.

Hey Mike! Everything you wrote tells us everything we need to know as to why you don't find anything wrong this ad!

Holding a perfume bottle stuffed right up where it counts is obsene for a teenage minor child.
Where is this perfume intended for use? As stated by others, after she reaches the age set by law for an adult, apparently anything is acceptable.

Hey Betty! I got a news flash for ya. Male heterosexual men are attracted to women. The united states constitution gives all american citizens the specific right of "Freedom of Thought". You are not responsible for what people think. Niether am i. But when i see an atractive woman i think to myself wow she's hot. That's not a crime. I'm a husband, a father and a grand father. I raised daughters and i have grand daughters. my daughters are attractive and my grand daughters are attractive. i'm sure througout the course of everyday someone will ogle them and my wife too. Ogling is not against the law. I say again, there's nothing wrong with this ad. Britain is full of double-standard numbskulls. That's why our ancestors left there and came over hear and established this wonderful FREE country called America. God made woman beautiful. If you don't like men being attracted to women then blame God. He made women gorgeous. And he made men horny. And he made man in his own image. Which means we men got our horniness and oglness from him. And i like him. And he likes me. The first thing i'm gonna do if i make heaven is thank God personaly for making woman. I wouldn't want to live on any planet without them.

Just like America, where we view 17-year olds as “children.” FYI, the average age of loss of virginity in the US is 17 years, 3 months.

  • Maggie - 12 years ago

I agree with Betty. Most men will see nothing wrong with this ad but the inuendo is obvious. I have 3 daughters and they agree with me . . . this ad is over the line.

  • Kelli - 12 years ago

This ad seems suggestive. Why couldn't the bottle be on her leg instead of between them? Even the look on her face is sexual in nature! Terrible ad.

  • David K. - 12 years ago

Move the bottle 2" up onto her right thigh and it's a good add. The bottle to me seems to be pushed up against her "private parts" sugesting something different than just an advertisement for purfume. Let's not kid anyone, the advertisers knew what they were after and they got it.

  • Betty - 12 years ago

I think the ad would have been fine without the placement and design of the perfume bottle between her legs, which immediately brings to mind the flower of virginity. I agree this is a little over the line, but I do expect the men to like it since they are the ones that all of this child pornography is directed at, after all.....so unfortunate we no longer have the kind of men who can stand up and say "This is wrong -- I have a daughter this age." Do you want your mail friends ogling your 17 year old?

  • Nostalgia - 12 years ago

This criticism coming from a country that has topless women on Page 3 of the local newspaper. How hypocritical can you be?

  • terry - 12 years ago

ad is very racy and definitely inappropriate

  • mike - 12 years ago

The only thing nasty about this ad is the minds of the people calling it too racy. A young person fully clothed holding a bottle of perfume. The people reading into it as racy are the people that should be investigated for pedofilia. If they see what they say they see in this ad then they are the pervs. Not the ad.
