How did they do on 'Two and a Half Men'?

Two and a Half Men is not the same without Charlie. Ashton Kutcher is HORRIBLE! He plays the same lame character in everything. He is only good at playing a dumb ass "That 70's Show". LAME! The show will flop without Charlie. Bring him back!!

  • nlagirl - 13 years ago

Bad, bad and more bad. I was so dissappointed with the "new" show. Not funny. In very poor taste. It was all about the producer getting revenge at Charlie. I never laughed once during the whole show. Ashton looked terrible. He should have come in as a strong character looking dashing instead of a wimp looking pitiful. I thought Charlie could be replaced with such a strong supporting cast, but I guess I was wrong.

  • ME - 13 years ago

Well,2.5 men was not the worst and NOT THE BEST......I miss Charlie. His Brother,Alan, the Son,Berta, and mostly their Mother were great.But,A.K.???? No..... he just doesn't seem to fit in.

My suggestion would be,that the writers make a ''DALLAS'' moment ........It was all a bad dream.Everyone ate something weird(mushrooms??) The next day, they get up and, THERE'S
    CHARLIE........and the beat goes on.......

  • v. - 13 years ago

Boring and horrible aren't strong enough words. Although Charlie has left my "fan book", he was 2 1/2 Men! The rest of the cast was just an awesome blend that played off of each other. I predict it fails. I won't watch again, Ashton was completely lame and unbelieveable. I do acknowledge, he was just playing his part. If I was him, I would have turned it down!

Kutcher can't act. He's still stuck in THAT 70'S SHOW in more ways than one. Why does that 70's hair style look so greasy, did his stylist do that on purpose?

  • GaryG - 13 years ago

Early on we enjoyed the show. However, the last few years"sex" and every questionable subject surrounding sex has shown up on the show, including Bi, Transgender and Homosexuality. We're not prudes by any means. But, the shows writers and management have crossed the line of network TV entertainment.

Having everyone talk about getting STD's as if normal behavior, Stamos walk on tells us he had sex with Charlie out of social convenience, Ashton wandering about the house appearing oblivious, nude without a care, cast telling us about his whopping "length", and him falling into a 3 some, tells us about show writers. They've lost sight of regular family comedy in favor of a show that borders porn. The writers did nothing more then attempt to make Hollywood's sexual distortions and dysfunctions into everyday way of life in Malibu... The show is no longer entertainment, nor is it real comedy.

  • Jim F - 13 years ago

    They should rename the show:

    "Dude, where's my brother?"

  • Dianne - 13 years ago

Ashton just doesn't have what it takes....It was so boring and he (Ashton) stinks...Chuck made a lousy decision....I miss Charlie he was the show...I won't watch it again...Chuck maybe you should eat some crow and get Charlie back....

  • B. Cherry - 13 years ago

I really did not like the show.Ashton does not have the expressions Sheen had. He and Allen were so good together. I will quit watching the show. If they would bring Charlie back, it would be great. I do not see old Chuck Lorre doing that, he is such as ass.

  • cobra - 13 years ago

Funeral was boring and predictable as was most of the show. I'll watch a few more weeks in hopes that it improves but this was not a good effort.

  • Gayle - 13 years ago

Loved Ashton! He does comedy great! The show will be great even without Charlie!!

  • Betty Jane Haddock - 13 years ago

Isn't it a shame to fire Charlie .He was made for the part. To fire someone over a few words is really petty. What did they have to do with the show? You ruined a really good sitcom.Ashton doesn't and will never do the job Charlie has done. Some people don't have good sense when it comes to firing someone.

  • Katie - 13 years ago

The new episode of the show was dumb. I did not think it was funny and I did not laugh once, which is a first when watching this show in the past.......Ashton acted stupid like his charactor from the 70's show.....disappointed. They really missed the mark with this opening episode. :-(

  • Frank - 13 years ago

Show was better with Charlie's dry, sarcastic humor than it will ever be with Kutcher's goofiness. Jon Cryer, Angus Jones and cast could carry the show alone with innuendos to Charlie. Bring him back.

I have to agree, 2.5 Men has lost the dynamic it had. Ashton looks and acts like a dirty dumb sheepdog. The nudity thing didn't seem funny. Sheen's facial expressions and arrogance carried the show well, combined with the other actors. This new dude is flat, and not believable. This actually was one of the only shows I made the time to watch last season. I may just be finding myself too busy to tune in to it. Oh well. It's not that I "like" Sheen, but he was amusing to watch. Made it seem like he was just being himself. Charlie and Allen were a great "Odd Couple." Chemistry was also great with Niles and Frazier. I don't think this new guy and Allen play well together. The hugs were dumb.

  • Jon - 13 years ago

Seemed they left the door open... I can see a dream sequence or Charlie having been in the witness relocation program if AK fails to produce the laughs. Never forget how they brought back Bobby on Dallas all those years ago! My vote is a dream sequence after a drunk fest... Bring back CHARLIE!

  • Malorie Evans - 13 years ago

Too bad. The show sucked. I was expecting more and was very disappointed. Kurtcher was just dumb. Unless he takes on the Charlie Harper persona quickly, this will not go anywhere. We miss Charlie.

  • Oscar - 13 years ago

Not funny...Not interesting...Not watching that crap anymore...Bring back Charlie!!!

  • Phillis Diller - 13 years ago

You moron...can't you see...it was the Charlie Sheen Show. The rest are supporting actors. The show was about the life of this crude and rude guy that has a house in Malibu and allows his brother and nephew to live with him. We love that Charlie is a drunk. We loved the tasteless jokes. We love that Charlie is a womaniser. We love that Charlie is a gambler. We love the part of Charlie Harper...that was the success of the show. So what if he was all those things in real life? That made the show that much credible. We all knew Sheen was playing himself on TV.
So when you say that this was an a group effort, I agree, but with Charlie Sheen as the focus of the show. Ashton Kutcher is an awful comedic actor. This is not a part that he can play. He was unbelievable and boring for this part. Charlie played the role great because it was his life.

  • Mike - 13 years ago

I couldn't wait for the NEW 2.5 Men premiere and it was perfect!! Very funny opening as Alan eulogized Charlie and all of Charlie's ex's were in the crowd and actively commenting out loud during the eulogy. Then, to have Rose come up and mention how Charlie 'slipped' from a platform in front of a metro train, exploding like a 'balloon full of meat' and Berta following that up with something about not messing with a crazy woman...VERY funny writing! AK will fit in Charlie's shoes (and life-style) quite well and Alan will remain the ever envious tenant. It will be interesting how Rose, Judith, Evelyn and Berta handle Walden's "hung like an elephant" manliness. Berta was excellent as usual. I think were going to see Judith around the house a little more this season. Excellent opening! Best of luck for the rest of the season!

  • Vicki - 13 years ago

Hated it! I won't be watching again. Kutcher was terrible and the whole gang seemed off. This show won't last to see another season.

  • Elvis Presley - 13 years ago

The show bombed last night... I waited...and waited and I never laughed. Wrong actor to replace Charlie. They should have made the replacement a bigger drunk, womanizer, gambler and all around horn dog ...than Charlie Harper. That would have worked. Kutcher was just dumb. I don't care if they make him rich, or with a giant penis...he played the part as if he was on that 70's Show. The dumb look and the stare into nowhere just does not play here. He is not a sex symbol so the naked parts where just stupid.
The Charlie replacement needed to be more mature and more sleezy. Yes..give him money and a big shlong...but make him more Charlie and you might hang on.
The way it is now...NO Way...this is a dead show.

  • Lady - 13 years ago

You people are funny. Guess you approved of what Charlie Sheen has been doing. Do you think he wasn't drinking on that show. Think again. While last night was okay why not give it a chance. It was Charlie Sheen who blew it, not the show, not Ashton. It was Charlie who thought he was better than anyone else. He is the laughing all the way to the bank. Not you that's for sure. It is only a TV show nothing more, nothing less. If you don't like it, you control your TV, turn it off. It wasn't bad and lately even with Charlie the jokes had become pretty flat and disgusting. And no one is worth the kind of money he was making just like sports figures aren't worth the millions they are paid to play a game.

Remember it wasn't just Charlie who made the show. All the actors made the show. Just like it is not one person who makes a team sport it is the whole team.

  • Demi Moore - 13 years ago

The show was awful. I don't care what others opinion is, this was the Charlie Sheen Show. Jon Cryer and the rest of the cast are good supporting actors, but the show is really about Charlie Harper.
Kutcher's part was dumb and made Alan look like a different person. The jab about Charlie being gay was also not Charlie's persona. The show missed on it's intent. Now we know that Charlie Sheen needs to come back and quickly. People watched because they wanted to see the transparent replacement of Charlie Harper...That did not happen. If Chuck Lore wants to save this show...he needs to pick up the phone or the show will die a death worse than being run over by a train. I am not watching anymore...AWFUL!!!!!!

  • P squared - 13 years ago

Ashton is one dimensional actor (this was like the 70s show). I more enjoyed the re-introduction of past guests (at funeral), and cameos of TV legend characters. THAT formula had more promise. Writers need to strengthen Cryer's character, play up "Alan and Mom". Sheen was himself, not an actor. Kutcher the same. Maybe they should have rethought Rob Lowe. Possibilities for writers, but they are quickly painting themselves into a corner at the risk of viewers.

  • B - 13 years ago

Meh... Some of it was too awkward, and he was thrown in to the role too quickly. Reminded me of an Adam Sandler movie where he writes about him being rich and gets the girls... Two and a half Men was created around Charlie's life, Kutcher can't fill that slot. He doesn't know how to be a drunk, and he's not funny when "getting the girls." I think this will be the last season of Men, hope Cryer has plans made for next year, he's funny, don't want to see his career fail because of someone elses mistakes.

  • Kevin - 13 years ago

This show is not on it's last leg. Kutcher is not a good actor
and when working with Cryer it becomes even more obvious.
Bad choice by the producers, what has he done since the 70's show??
He may pull some female viewers, but certainly not for his acting ability.

  • Dan - 13 years ago

Kutcher sucked. The show was not funny. The way they did the funeral for Charlie was awful, the producers are just jerks to do that. The show is done. The original cast made the show. Kutcher is not funny, has no talent and should just go away.

  • Rick - 13 years ago

I gotta tell you it really wasnt good.. But i think we should all give it a chance or at least a couple of weeks to see if they step it up a bit. if not then we can determan if the show is good or not.

  • Sandra Holt - 13 years ago

I have always loved Two and a Half Men and Charlie Sheen, however he has succeeding in turning me off with his crazy antics and trashy behavior, I can't even stand to watch him in reruns anymore. I think the old crew with Ashton Kutcher will be a great change. Give Ashton a chance. I believe he will make us proud. Charlie Sheen would have been nothing without the rest of the cast and the writers. Too much money and too full of himself.

  • Lisa - 13 years ago

Men was horrible! It wasn't funny, the chemistry was off and Kutcher was terrible - he has no sense of comic timing. The premiere was obviously meant as a personal (and highly unprofessional) jab at Charlie Sheen that fell flat and ended up being a grave disservice to the cast and the history of a show we used to love.

I'm done with Men and I think Chuck Lorre is a fool and a wimp. Lorre was making cracks about Charlie Sheen via his vanity cards long before Sheen started making potshots at him proving Lorre can dish it out but he can't take it. And then to kill Sheen's character, replace him with a nobody like Kutcher and destroy the chemistry amongst the cast all to get even because Sheen said things about him that he didn't like? Lorre is pathetic! No one really likes their boss and no American would throw away millions of dollars just because someone is bad mouthing them. Lorre is an ingrate and Men is now unwatchable. Next Monday at 9pm my DVR will be set to record "House" and "Hart of Dixie". Goodbye Men!

  • chris - 13 years ago

Ashton Kutcher nailed it. I like Charlie Sheen just as much as the next person, but he sealed his own coffin by biting the hand that fed him. Don't feel sorry for Charlie, he just got 25 mill with more to come and he doesn't have to do a thing. 2.5 men comes on in syndication - I can get my Charlie Sheen fix there if I need it.

When AK entered the scene I immediately thought "OMG, they are going to make John Cryer the lady's man now. How smoothly they moved it to Ashton. I laughed over and over again from the first moment to the last and couldn't believe it was over. Kutcher's clueless humor was a refreshing change from Charlie's dry wit. I didn't watch 2.5 men before, except in syndication, because of Monday night football. After seeing this episode, that will change. I look forward to next Monday.

  • al Rabaglia - 13 years ago

Show was boring, didnt laugh once, charlie made the show you better find a way to bring him back, I wont be watching anymore.

  • dale armstrong - 13 years ago

i turned it off half way thru its like replacing one of the three stooges it cant be done i will be very mad at charlie if he does not come up with another show

  • George Garcia - 13 years ago

Our household has been fan of 2 1/2 Men since it began. We H-A-T-E-D the new episode with Ashton Kutcher. He's just NOT the personality that Charlie Sheen was on the show. I found the show DULL, BORING and LACKING IN THE HUMOR THAT WAS TWO AND A HALF MEN! The ONLY good parts in the show were the funeral and the dropping of the ashes on the floor. But when Mr. Kutcher entered the scene, it truly became BORING! His lines were so flat I couldn't understand them and the CANNED LAUGHTER was just PUTRID! NO MORE TWO AND A HALF MEN FOR OUR HOUSEHOLD! UNLESS...YOU BRING CHARLIE BACK!!

  • BKB - 13 years ago

I gave it a shot and both my roomate and myself thought it wasn't the same without Charlie Sheen.. Say what you want about the guy and his personal life, but the show really centered around him and was basically his life in the form of a sitcom minus Cryer and the kid, who's now what?? 21?? Kutcher's Jesus look has to go as well and I'd be anxious to see how well Charlie Sheen's Roast on Comedy Central did in the ratings last night against "New and a Half Men, Now with More Ashton".. I bet it's close cause that Roast was pretty good..

  • Franny Fan - 13 years ago

The first part of the show was very funny in a sick way. The producers really gave Charlie the heave ho and not too nicely with the ending of his character. When Kutcher entered, his character seemed to be almost dim witted then evolved to a "what's the big deal"?...nudist.

The rest of the cast was still up to the task especially "Alan" who I've always thought was the "
equal and funniest star" of the show.

Kutcher, IMO, is not up to the challenge at least at this point. The show has to evolve and we'll see where it will go. Charlie is going to be sorely missed as he played his character well.
I do think a little more mature replacement for Charlie was needed. Kutcher is too shabby looking and should become more sophisticated in his appearance as time goes by. It will be interesting to find out what future plans they have for Rose and where she will fit in with the scheme of things.....jail maybe??? haha

  • angie - 13 years ago

Had a few laughs, but they were with the old cast. Did not get a Kutcher laugh last night. Glad I can still see reruns of the show. Could never understand how these women on this show never were nominated for Emmy nominations. They are so quick and have barbed (but comic tongues). Will miss Charlie Sheen. Kutcher is out of his element with this adult comedy. Belongs on "that 70's show".

  • russ - 13 years ago

Brilliant departure of Sheen, interesting entrance of Kutcher. The show lagged early and the gags were just mildly funny. After the bar scene the plot gained momentum and reached the typical "climax" as it chugged to the finish. My overall impression is; the change in character changes the dynamics that were so entertaining. I enjoyed seeing the new show and will remain patient as the Kutcher becomes more integrated. In my opinion, he needs to step it up. Filling the flip-flops of Sheen is a tough assignment. There is sufficient footing with the other seasoned players that will help to retain the audience. A couple more episodes will determine their fate.

  • S G Scarr - 13 years ago

A big next to Ashton! Hey dude it's NOT the 70's show! You will never take the place of Charlie........Punked is more your style!

  • Bob - 13 years ago

I watched for about 10 minutes and I had to turn it off. It just wasn't funny. They blew it - one of the best shows on the air is now dead.

  • Jen - 13 years ago

I thought it was just "OK". I won't be watching any longer though, just wanted to see how it was. Two and a Half Men is Charlie, Alan, and Jake, and that's all. It doesn't fit, we need Charlie back.

  • kdp - 13 years ago

Watched to see how Charlie died. I love Jon Cryer but even he couldn't pull this above being awful and the jokes flat. I turned the channel halfway through. The only one laughing is "Michael Kelso" - Kutcher is a one-trick-pony and he doesn't fit here. Like it or not, no one does it better than Sheen. Moving onto something else to watch in that time slot - DWTS anyone?

  • tim - 13 years ago

Boring. They replaced a funny quick witted irreverent character with a dope.

  • Phoenician - 13 years ago

If he shaves and cuts his hair, he has a chance. You see a couple of the great things about Charlie was that he had great timing and facial expressions to go with it. With all of Kutcher's hair there are no facial expressions to go with the funny lines. Lose the hair.
    BTW
It is really sad that the studio is so desperate that they have to go to nude bits. They just cut out 10% of the audience. Too bad they don't have enough faith their new replacement.

  • Rich from Lake Conroe - 13 years ago

I'll miss Charlie as he was perfect in the role he played. But I also missed Michael J. Fox when he was replaced by Charlie. I think it is too early to vote on this as Ashton's character needs to develop. He seemed to be a little stiff in the role and his mannerisms/speech patterns were similar to those of Jake (which Ashton needs to stop). Let's give Ashton and the story line time to develop and let's vote again in 2 months or so.

  • BG - 13 years ago

They hired a third class actor to replace a first class one. Heck, Angus Jones is a better actor than Kutcher, speaking or not. It is a shame to ruin such a good show and send it on it's way on a pile of c-rap

  • T D - 13 years ago

    bring back charlie!!!!!!!!

  • Joe - 13 years ago

Personally, I thought the way he died was sick. I wished they killed off Rose. Or sued her for Charlie's death. Maybe Mr. Lorre should grow up himself or get out of the business since his feelings get hurt so easily.

And Fox News should stop acting like TMZ and the moral police.

  • Anne - 13 years ago

I hated Kutcher's hair. The show has little merit. If it has to rely on nudity during a prime time
slot that pretty much says it all. We won't be tuning in for future episodes. It was stale with or without Sheen. Move on people, read a book or look for better forms of entertainment.

Oh, BTW... What is the deal that almost every show we are now offered has Canadian actors.
If American actors don't recognized they are being squeezed out, then they are dumber than we thought!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMDB tells the facts, just more clueless sheeple...

  • Sammie Jo - 13 years ago

I thought it was very well done, Alan was hysterical, Kutcher as the new guy was funny, he does need to cut that hair though, it did look greasy. I think the show will be just fine without Sheen, it was always the cast and the writers who made the show, as long as the writing is good the cast will be fine. Sheen may have thought he was the show but he wasn't, Alan and Berda were far funnier.
I'll be watching it, if kutcher can't pull it off, he'll just have to go over the balcony.

  • Fantom - 13 years ago

We actually found ourselves laughing out load at the show instead of quietly snickering.
Ashton's hair has gt to go, but the writing was well above the average of the past couple of seasons. I'm actually looking forward to the show again instead of being afraid on how bad Charlie would look week to week.

  • spOOk - 13 years ago

Ashton tried too hard. The sexual innuendo's were flat, obvious, and contrived. Ashton & the show may mature into something worth watching, but they aren't there yet. Jake's first fart was the high point of the show, and that is sad.

  • rickg - 13 years ago

Ashton needs to get a shave and wash and cut his hair. He looks greasy and dirty. Oh, and not very funny.

  • marynelle - 13 years ago

I enjoyed tonight's show and think it will get even better show after show. Yes I loved Charlie Sheen and I hate he messed his life up and the people who worked on the show, but he made his choice. I'm not going to punish the rest of the crew because of Charlies bad behavoir. Hope folks will give Ashton a chance and he's not my favorite actor.

  • dj - 13 years ago

Just wanted to see what how they wrote charlie off. Won't be watching anymore. Two and Half men was Charlie, Matthew and the boy. Kutcher needs to find his own show that's him. However, one good thing is that he'll be laughing all the way to bank, lol.

  • Suzy - 13 years ago

You need one more category. How about really, "Horrible, horrible, horrible." Incredibly boring and flat. And you paid Ashton Kutcher how much for this?!? You will need to answer to the shareholders over this one. Seriously doubt I will be watching this remake of the 70's show. No that's wrong, the 70's show had more of a storyline. CBS, Warner Bros and Chuck Lorie you all deserve to fail over this disaster. Maybe Lorie should have thought about what part he played in the destruction of this show with his little vanity cards.

  • The BOJWON - 13 years ago

Ashton Kutcher was funny and I think we should let his character develop before deciding if he can make the show work as well as Charlie did. Sure, it will be a different character, but I don't live my life around Charlie Sheen. Ashton Kutcher can make me laugh and in his first appearance he scored with two hotties. That's not bad for starters!

I can see Walden taking a leak off the balcony and Rose thinking he's putting out a fire with a hose! Hey! It could happen!
    Good Luck Ashton!
    So says,
    The BOJWON
