I used to pronounce it "neesh" but it seemed pretentious with everyone else pronouncing it "nitch." So I succumbed to peer-group pressure and began mispronouncing it like everyone else. ;o)

Actually, and officially, it IS pronounced "Nitch". Here is the audio of it from Dictionary.com. All those folks who prefer to say "Neesh" need to regroup.
