I believe there's a more basic reason people leave their jobs. It's not always what they state or admit as they leave since it seems less tangible/measureable. But it's due to feeling unnecessary/unappreciated.
It's tough to teach employers how to do that since it comes from inside a person, their intent. And some employees are able to "fill in the gaps" of appreciation with their own drive, purpose, motivation.
