I will NEVER watch a show that Justin B does if he wins. The man has skills and can definetly cook, however, he is a boring, dry talking host and I fall asleep everytime I hear his voice!

Penny sooooo.... didn't deserve to make it as far as she did. Okay, so she could cook...sort of. But she was so FIESTY! AGGRESSIVE!! and just plain nasty. Seriously. I think It should have been Vic in the finale, not Susie! Don't you agree?

Penny - her true personality was shown from the beginning. Though she made me cringe with her self-centered and mean spirited antics, at least I was expecting it from her.

Mary Beth, on the other hand, shocked me with her behavior towards Jeff both in the elimination and in the reunion. Really? She couldn't find one kind word to say about Jeff? Was it poor sportsmanship on her part or was there a valid reason for her cold-hearted treatment?

Before seeing the reunion show I was hoping Food Network could find a place for Mary Beth in their lineup of food stars. I was hoping to see her again, perhaps as a judge on one of the food competition shows.

Now I wouldn't watch a show with her on it. How could I ever trust her comments? She has sacrificed her integrity with her actions and her words. I would wonder about her commentary: Is the food was that bad, or has the chef somehow made her mad.

Words are powerful. Mary Beth is skilled at using them. Sometimes our greatest strength can also be our greatest weakness.

Penny Davidi is an Iranian-American of Jewish heritage. So please stop with the mindless anti-muslim rants.

Why don't you google what the general public has to say about Bobby Flay and the rest of the so-called 'stars'. Pot, meet Kettle...

    What a juvenile poll!

I am So GLAD for JEFF to win.
Penny was disgusting to watch. I wish FoodNetwork does not spoil the fun with people like Penny.I was shocked to realize that even Mary Beth was mean!
My other fav was Justin- even though he didn't talk much. Susie was a cutie , she will definitely be a star some where else.

  • tom - 13 years ago

How could anyone not answer this with Mary Beth? I didnt mind her feud with Penny but her horribly rude behavior towards Jeff in the reunion was the worst of the series. It came off as it wasnt even her refusing to be hugged - shes uptight and controlling, fine, but her not being able to say one nice thing of Jeff and when questioned tried to come off by only saying something nice aboue Susie. Was Jeff really that awful? This was not seen at all during the series and makes me MAJORLY dislike anything she will do in the future. How you act on TV - even a second - doesnt go away.

Penny was Penny. Unlikable from the beginning but you knew where she stood. Mary Beth, however, pretended to smile, but was so sinister in her demeanor. What a fake! ! ! Glad when she was finally kicked out.

  • KD - 13 years ago

Penny was a complete narcissist, but at least she could cook. Mary-Beth on the other hand, was the least impressive cook, was uninteresting and had an awful personality. I find it disturbing that she hung on for so long.

It's a good thing Penny didn't win. I don't ever want to see her again. If she's on Food Network in any way, shape or form, I will NEVER watch that station again. The judges showed very poor choices in keeping her on the show. I don't need to watch TV to see this type of person; I can just turn on the news or read a newspaper. I think the judges should be judged and eliminated.

You know - if you would have asked me to answer this question before last night's reunion show, I would have said Penny. But then the "real" Mary Beth came out. The way she dismissed Jeff in the elimination round showed a real lack of class. I also thought her inability to be support of Jeff during last night's focus group segment was also childish. While I think Penny can be abrasive, and Chris is a dufus and Alicia is just plain unwatchable, Mary Beth's turncoat, 2-faced behavior was the worst of all......in my humble opinion :)

  • Ben - 13 years ago

Penny should have been voted out earlier but Mary Beth was going to lose anyways and she have lost before Whitney anyways. Whitney was a MUCH better chef and wasn't to uppity to get hugged after losing. Who holds a grudge about being hugged when emotionally vulnerable? That was just bizarre.

  • Kitty - 13 years ago

Penny was nasty from the first episode. She should be behind the wall cooking so nobody ever has to hear her nastiness ever again. I almost quit watching this show because of her. Her attitude showed up everytime on camera, this is why she was cut. She should have been cut right away so she didn't ruin anyone else's chances like she did.

Mary Beth might have shown her true colors ! She is such a snob!

  • Charlene - 13 years ago

You know, besides being mean spirited and acting bizarrely entitled, Penny really can't be very smart conducting herself the way she did. She was just completely unlikable, and for people to watch a show, you have to like the host. Duh. Same goes for Howie, who was a user and had NO cooking chops, and the immature and snotty little boy Chris. I know people like these three, and I avoid them.

I'm sitting here watching the reunion show and I see people laughing at Penny and her meanness, and Penny laughing at herself. I frankly don't think it's at all funny. Penny doesn't have either enough brains or enough self awareness to realize that competitiveness and mean spiritedness are not the same thing.

If the Food Network Star starts to showcase (manufactured or real) this kind of unacceptable behavior, if they give air time to mean-spirited people, I will stop watching.

  • Catch 22 - 13 years ago

James, Jr: Your racial comment was unneccesary and vile. Penny's nationality has nothing to do with her offensive personality. It should be removed from the board you should be banned from being allowed to post.

That said, I agree with most everyone regarding Penny. She intentionally sabotaged Mary Beth and was the major factor in her losing. I also agree that her nasty and destructive attitude should have been addressed by the judges at the beginning and either stopped immediately or she should have been asked to leave. However, let's face it, they all like to see controversy as they think it's good for the ratings. Just not morale.

They were quite aware that Penny was deliberately exaggerating her slowness when 'assisting' Mary Beth as evidenced by Bobby Flay approaching Penny and basically asking her why she was just leisurely taking her time. At that point, especially at that point they should have told Penny to leave and found someone else to assist Mary Beth. Because they didn't, Mary Beth was doing the work of two people which wasn't justified or equal when everyone else had second person to help. In addition he even told Mary Beth at the judging table they all were aware she was handicapped by Penny's utter lack of helping. While they would never do it, I think Mary Beth should have been given some kind of immunity so that she wouldn't have been eliminated. Mary Beth wouldn't have won, even if I liked her the most, however, she would have least been given a fairer shot. I certainly don't believe that Vic Vegas is a much better chef.

  • James Jr - 13 years ago

Penny, what do you expect from a muslim?

  • DeGeorgetown - 13 years ago

They really needed to make a poll to find out who we disliked least? It should have been pretty obvious...

  • Meena - 13 years ago

I was very shocked at Penny's behavior. I have never seen such a petty and mean spirited contested on this show. Generally all the contestants seem like nice people. It was not fair to Mary Beth to allow Penny to sabotage her. The judges really should not have allowed Penny to continue working so "methodically."

  • Derek - 13 years ago

Penny viewed the competition for what it was: a competition. You play any sort of game with a person like this - Monopoly, Life, or ping pong - then it is on. I'm glad she didn't win, but I am also glad she stuck around for as long as she did. She helped get rid of the riff-raff like Alicia. I sure am glad I didn't have to listen to blondie's blubbering for too long.

  • Bill - 13 years ago

I feel everyone that came to this contest was in it to win, that's the objective , In Penney's case , she came not onl;y to win, but used her mean spirited personality toward another contestant, & virtually got away with it, This incident should have been stopped when the taping of the show began.Penney should have been told point blank this kind of behavior will not continue, the judges played this out without condidering Mary Beth's feelings, I believe Penney should have been disqualified at the beginning for her actions. To show the judges didn't care, Penney was brought back & teamed with Mary Beth,, Mary Beth was sent home that night, whether you lke Mary Beth or not, she deserved better respect from the judges than what she got.

  • Sharon Wood - 13 years ago

I've been watching this show since its inception and never have I seen the fellow-contenders, nor the judges, be so uncomfortable with any one contestant. It was almost like watching a jealous 15-year old.

  • Joe Puente - 13 years ago

Penny is a textbook narcissist. She calls it "confidence" but her sense of entitlement and attitude shows otherwise. I was glad to see her go, not so much because I disliked her but because she needed to be taken down a peg. Of course, most narcissists don't usually learn those kinds of lessons, they just make excuses.

  • marsha ward - 13 years ago

I have never seen anyone more mean spirited or petty. Trying to sabotage MaryBeth was just the sort of thing I would have expected from her. I don't think she knew that a lot of non winners are back on the food network , hopefully the judges got a good taste of her and we won't ever have to see her again. Karma is a ***** and she will get hers.

  • Amy - 13 years ago

  • Vivant - 13 years ago

  • Bon - 13 years ago

I disliked Penny from the first episode! She is so abrasive, mean spirited, vengeful, I could go on.
