Why on earth are KCC going to spend OUR money on something which is a national problem. Have they totally lost the plot? By all means fight our corner but don't roll over with your legs in the air! It wouldn't have happened with Sany Bruce Lockhart in charge

Am I mistaken or was it Kent Police's idea to set up operation stack? If so, they should pick up the tab..... which unfortunately means it will be passed on to you and me

A Large amount of the lorry traffic appears to be coming from Eastern Europe, so why should France be held responsible? It is our government's and the EU's trading policies which dictates the amount of commercial traffic, so in my opinion it is our government and the EU who should pick up the tab for the resultant chaos on our roads. And yes, I do realise that means its our tax payers to stump up. Another reason for us to re-examine our whole membership of the EU.

If the port was n't there then operation stack would be required, but then one of the largest employers in the area would go and along with it the ability of lots of Kent people to pay council tax and income tax and vat. So the answer is every one should have a portion of the financial burden. But I would suggest that you look at the GROSS profit of the Port (thats before the creative accountants get at it) and decide who benefits most from operation stack - I think you will find its good old Gordon and his cronies.
