What has been the most shocking elimination in American Idol history? (Poll Closed)

Gve me a break!!!! Michael Johns had a far superior voice then 99% of the singers in that competition!!!!! Its actually ridiclious . His voice was great and the fact that he was sexy was the icing on the cake. And Rickey Im truly suprised in you. You always go for the hotties. And this guy was definelty the best looking American idol contestant ever. Plus he has a fantastic vioice. Usally the cute ones never sing well.But this guy was the whole package. David cook really is very talanted also. So I hope he wins.

Rickey, did you leave Melinda out of this poll on purpose? Because in my book, Melinda's "elimination" was the most shocking thing that has ever happened on TV.

I agree with Janni, Melinda's elimination is the most shocking, Daughtry's elimination second, Michael's elimination did not surprise me at all coz I never really saw him as a major contender...

Clay's was not really an 'elimination'. He 'officially' came in 2nd to Ruben- not really-so NOT an elimination. Although AI 'giving' Ruben the 'win' was the most shocking thing about AI when they knew that Clay received 80 percent of the vote every week he was on and the only reason they 'gave' Ruben the win is that they really didn't have a good count on Clay since the one stinking phone line and 2 measly hours of voting just couldn't handle the millions of votes MORE than Ruben he was getting.(didn't they add on more phone lines and more hours to vote the very next year/???) So..they just threw up their hands and gave it to Ruben-they probably felt 'sorry' for him! Michael Johns elimination WAS shocking. But as we all know now....you don't need to 'win' to make it in the business. Ask Chris D. So let's all cool down and just wait and see what happens.
