Hmmm... This will either take a few months (6 tops) or it will never get completed. Looks like a good idea though. Looking forward to seeing the results in a few months time..
if all user put the widget on blogroll and promote into any forum or discussion thread or even self blog i think this 1 million list will be achieve within 12 months.
I'm suprised that after a week, there's only like 600++. Thought it would be more than that. So my guess, within 6 months, probably.. Else within a year.. I'm pretty sure the reason why it's kinda slow is because well, not many people/bloggers know about the existence of this site, etc.. Anyway, I think it's cool to set this up in the first place..
hmm .. it's an interesting experiment. The growth will be exponential... Initial start will be slow .. but once the initial group gets their reader base to add their blog and so on and so forth, the 1,000,000 target will be reached.
Would make more sense if you removed the 'nofollow' attribute from the links. Otherwise, this site doesn't do much for the members.
I think it will take a while. I remember reading somewhere that over 90% of blogs have not been updated in the past month. Less than 1% in the past 48 hours. Somewhere else I saw a claim that more than 1/2 of all blogs are abandoned.
If those numbers are even close, it could take a while to get to a million listings. On the other hand that still leaves hundreds of thousands that have been updated in the past 48 hours and millions that have been updated in the past month. Those are big numbers indeed.
It should take no more than 12 months! Not all that have seen it will participate until it becomes really popular or useful.
I think it will go in about 6 months... have you seen how many blogs are really out there and how fats this has grown in so short a time! ;o) Good Luck to everyone wanting to get their message out there!
It will be slow at first, but it will grow in a very fast pace, its the leveraging effect, the whole blogosphere is a network chain.
Going by the current take up it's going to be well over a year, which kind of surprises me. I would have expected it to grow much faster than that.
All this talk about abandoned blogs makes me wonder how many of those already on the list are now effectively dead?
