I don't care about the format that much since everyone with the CCCP can play just about everything. But I DO care about quality (I'm not demanding bluray HD rips but at least MQ files should be provided). Since you guys started uploading LQ stuff I'm looking elsewhere for my subs. :| It's a pity because there aren't many blogs with rapidshare links (and MQ files).

No, there isn't really a reason to complain. .RMVB is lower quality, but I can't argue. It prevents splitting of archives and overall makes things easier. I'm not watching any of these on a larger than laptop screen. No problem to me. Keep 'em .RMVB. I like the small size. Less HDD's I have to use.

I'm not really picky when it comes to file formats as long as the quality of the video is high; and the higher the quality the better. Low resolution, highly compressed videos look terrible on large displays. I'm not concerned about file size because I store everything on a large file server and a 2TB external hard drive. Most of the videos I come across tends to be either AVI or MK4.

I think that any format is good. The question is about the quolity of the video and the audio. I prefer LARGE compressed files with HQ video and 5.1 ac3 audio. HDDs aren't so expansive these days and are getting bigger in logical space and smaller in physical space. AVI is my choise, because of its spread of use and compression.

i ve seen both .avi and . rmvb format. personally i didn't find any difference in the quality between the two. so i like.rmvb more becoz of its smaller size.

80mg rmvb=170mg avi. the quality is exactly the same so rmvb>avi.

I don't understand, for the life of me, the desire to use RMVB. *Nothing* plays it, and if filesize is so important, H.264-based MKV/MP4/AVI files can be compressed just as much, and with higher quality at that. I compressed some Bleach episodes a while back to MP4 for my Xbox. When I got to the filler episodes, I crunched the bitrate so low that the episodes ended up at ~60-100 megabytes per episode (depending on how little I liked the particular filler arc) and were still easily watchable =3

The question is stupid. You should ask "What container do you prefer". Mkv (Matroska) is container which can include both japanese and english audio & softsub. In avi you have just (usually) DivX. Matroska with dualaudio, softsub, h.264 is the best. Why? Simply becouse I like to watch anime with sub in my own language. Avi / rmvb is always hardsub. And Matroska is open standart, totally free.
