No, we should boycott it because of Brenda Martin. I mean Mexico, that is. We should boycott the 1960 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. But first, we should build a time machine.
Canada needs to take conscious action regarding china. boycotting the purchase of chinese made goods by Canadians, declaring this an intentional focus of political opposition will have a long term consequence. Canada should voice its complete opposition to the olympic torch being carried through Tibet. the chinese actions that symbolize the repression of freedom must be halted wherever they are occuring.
Sometimes, no matter the cost, one must take a stand. The Olympics are the proper place: visible to the whole world and at very little cost (except for the missed oportunity for athletes in their prime and the pride of the host country).
