yes it does help the youngsters. it also helps the smaller teams to test their mettle against some of the big boys.

I don't think it helps anyone. All it is a day out for the fans if you get to the final, it doesn't generate enough money for the top clubs so they're not interested in it.
Maybe they should just enter their youth teams.

I think they should do what they do in the Olympics; in the Olympics European and South American teams can't play players older than 23 whereas all other teams can. If we did that to the Carling Cup young Premiership players could play and the lesser teams could compete.

I support a team called doncaster rovers and the crling cup is brilliant for us.And premiership teams should play because it gives the youngr players oppertunity to get a bit of experience. Come on England

You cant say it builds youngstars while Chelsea fields the same starting 11 and if its not them they'll field Sheva for Drogba,Bridge for Cole,Cech for Cudicini,Sidwell for Lamp,Benhaim & Alex for Terry and Carvalho,Obi Mikel for Ballack plus many more.A team which is worthy winning the CHAMPS LEAGUE.This should be left for the division2 or The big teams be allowed to field their players in reserve and the under18 and 3 Players from the senior team atleast to make it worth watching.

The LEAGUE cup, to give it's proper name is a great competition.
Its another chance for lower league clubs to survive financially and play a team they might only draw in the FA Cup. It gives a break from league pressures for all teams, who can test squad players, bring back injury recovery players, youth players or players lacking in confidence. Alternatiively like Arsenal, you can play 1st team regulars and claim its your youth team when you lose.

are you all crazy the carling cup is great. there should be no ban it is great for all the players and teams to be winning trophys that is what its all about the players seem to enjoy so wheres the problem. and many small teams earn a lot of money out of it by beating top flight clubs.
