What is the breaking point at which you will reduce or change your driving habits? (Poll Closed)

These gas prices make me wanna cry....like a little kid!!! Ridiculous what is this Soviet Russia!!!

There is a lot of blame to pass around here. The government, instead of lining their pockets, should have seen this coming and been more serious about pursuing alternative energy. But we as consumers are also to blame. Do you really need a 4 ton SUV to haul yourself, your spouse and 1-2 kids around? 10 years ago, gas was less than $1.00 per gallon, but 10 years ago maybe one in 10 people had an SUV. I would say that at least 1 in 4 families now has at least one. and honestly, Is there really a situation, when driving to and from work and dropping your kids off at soccer practice that you would really need the capabilites of a HUMMER? Do the small things like driving a car fits your needs, carpool, take fewer trips (consolidate errands), and the prices will go down. In the mean time, big government, and automakers need to get serious about alternative fuel solutions. Fuel Cells, Hydrogen, electric, biodiesel, and any number of combinations have been proven to work. Consumers need to let automakers know that there is a demand for these products. Everyone need to do their part, because I am really not looking forward to $4+ gas.

No refineries built in this country in 30 years, environmentalists won't let us drill for oil where we need to, billions of barrels of oil in N. & S. Dakota in Bakken Formation, if you have not contacted your Senator and Representative on a regular basis - DON"T COMPLIAN. You have the power to get things done. Take the time to write them. If you all would purchase the book "For the LOve of OIl" The Fleecing of the American Consumer, By Big Oil Companies,Politicians, and Wall Street Commodity Traders. by J C MCElroy who has a degree in economics and Ex Dir of Americans for Gov't Accountility. If every American had to read this bood they'd get motivated to write, cal whatever their Congressional Representative's
. I wrote the main two Congressmen who interview the Big Oil Exec's and recommended this book to them.
Plus I sent a copy to Chuck Mai at the Triple A office here in OKC.
Very enlightening book.

I do not understand this America, land of the free. Ok free to the Non-americans, I am really disappointed in our government rep's because they do not seem to care what we think or how much we a suffering. They do not have to go to the pumps and pay for their gas. I make less than $15,000.00 a year and I pay my bills and taxes, which I feel are being very misused by the government. Gas gets any higher I will not be able to go anywhere except work. What is wrong with this country. When I get ready to retire there will be no Social Security, because all my hard-earned money went to some foreign country to help someone who believes in cows as Gods. People wake up or we are going to go down the tubes without a fight. You do not have to worry about the foreign people bombing us again, we are giving this country away piece by piece. I am so angry that we as Americans can not live without having to support all the other countries, who could care less about us, just give them the money they want. Our so called representatives who we pay for their vacations, cars, food, and clothes, could care less about us the common people. I have not taken a vacation in 5 years. But I guess my opinion does not matter to those who run this country.

As long as there is an excessive profit to be made, rest assured that some corporation will take advantage of it... We continue to NOT modify our vehicles, driving habits and attitude. A valiant attempt was begun in the 1970's but has been eroded by public demand...
