Here's what I think about "click for more" om the Savage Critic

It works but it should be above the other links.

I kinda dig the READ MORE button but three things bug me:

    1) It drives me crazy that it's UNDER the label button -- seems like it should go right where the front chunk of the article lets off.

    2) It should be a brighter color so it stands out from the other kinda green elements on the page.

    3) It's great on the longer / heavily visually referenced articles (esp. Jog & Abhay) -- but where I'd REALLY love to see it used is on the PREVIEWS list.

    THNX!

    Darren:

"Splunge!", not "splurge" -- it means (from MONTY PYTHON) "It's a good idea, but maybe not, and I'm not being indecisive"

I think it's overused. Shorter articles are fine, but when Jog or someone with lots of visual references chimes in, the "click for more" seems appropriate.

Bearing in mind, i dont know what "splurge" means, but its location on the poll options implies its "awesome" -- but i hate the "click for more" link.

Love the site, bear in mind, but as i am lazy and on a mid-range dsl hookup, i like to open firefox, click "open all in tabs" for my 30 or so links, and come back to read them. often with a sleeping brat on my lap. i like all my posts to be open, and complete on the page when i return. makes my life easier.

    thanks,

    dw

(everyone on the site should do a must read book a day for a month, by the way. love that one.)

As I was an early whiner about it, I will say that changing the color of the Click For More link was a welcome improvement.

I'm a fast-scroller, so it really doesn't bother me to have to wade through verbiage I don't care to read. Having a sidebar index is another way to go, but to each their own.
