No - I would not and did not. My first marriage ended due to my spouses infidelity. I am not willing to share my husband with another woman. I feel that infidelity is a form of emotional abuse. Further - that is why I cannot support Hillary Clinton in her run for president. I feel her "support" and "forgiveness" of Bill Clinton and his documented infidelities (exceedingly numerous) were only to get her where she is today. She sold out certain moral principles to achive her goal. This is a principle that I fear she lacks and could have adverse effects on our country. What else would she tolerate or forgive in order to gain more power?
Yes, I would take my spouse back provided he was genuinely sorry and remorseful for what he did, broke off the relationship and brings evidence of that, and if he agrees to participate in family counseling. No one individual is perfect, and the act of forgiveness could actually make the marriage stronger.
I don't think you should have someone reporting about cheating when they got pregnant by a married man and was sent away to keep it hush, hush.
I agree with Lee. We all make mistakes, and that is just one of them. In most cases, there is something I did to contribute to the situation that lead to the infidelity. I'm not saying it's all my fault, I'm just saying it's not all his fault. I'm thankful that my husband forgives me when I lose my temper. He doesn't have to do that. I wouldn't have to forgive him, but I would. Note to thise in that situation: I know from a couple of wives who have forgiven and stayed in the marriage, it takes years before you really let go and get back to normal. But it's the same thing for a divorce. It takes years before your life is normal.
I think it is a shame that women would stay with a man that cheated on them because the old saying is true if he cheats and you take him back he will keep doing it until you get sick of that game and throw him to the curb. Men only do what they can get away with. Women too for that matter. My husband, of nine years, has always been on a short leash so if he cheats he knows where the door is. One time is a time to many.
