I really dont think it was a dumb move. The open the IPhone is the better.
By law, Microsoft had no choice but to license active sync to Apple. So this poll is rather silly.
I don't think this was a bad move. MS had to consider whether they could actually compete with the iPhone, and I'm guessing they decided they can't. Instead of spending tons of resources fighting the iPhone, they've opted for a piece of the iPhone pie instead. Prudent decision if you ask me. iPhone competitors, such as RIM, will still need an OS and they are not likely to use Apple. MS will now earn revenue from all sides, thereby hedging their bets and reducing risk.
i love the move is was the bast move.I seen in my life and i will love to see is 4 move time is the kind i love
Iphone sucks!! Apple should be sued for everything it does -- that company has no originality left. They need to stop going through other companies’ research database to market there ideas as apple! But I do applaud them for knowing how to market as its all about marketing – that what its’ all about!
As the iPhone becomes "the phone", Microsoft just ensured continued control over the general population's computing platform by extending one's desktop (95%+ of which are still Windows) to their phone (e.g. Outlook, Office, etc.).
Not only has MS been hammered recently with more anti-trust fines, but they have no competing product for the iPhone directly. While there are a host of WinCE phones out there, there's no reason not to dig even more into their Windows business by allowing iPhones to sync. FWIW, the iPhone, with it's limited SDK and inability to run more than one app at a time, doesn't appear to be a strong competitor for smartphones and WinCE phones except with the "it's cool looking" crowd.
I THINK THE IPHONE IS BETTA THAN A REGULAR PHONE AND I ALSO THINK LENNY SUCK NOT THE IPHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
i think its rather silly!
i don't know let's just wait
A very smart move in my opinion. It certainly doesn't spell the end of Windows Mobile. The iPhone is great for reading mail and short replies. I still think that a real keyboard will be preferred by most business users. If you are typing 200-400 word messages you will not easily be able to do that with an iPhone.
vete leo, tu no vas a ganar
No it wasn't a stupid idea. Although people might say that Microsoft's decision may affect the performance of their equivalent in the market, it was a smart business move as rather than Microsoft losing customers due to the people having to use Mac to transfer files over, instead they can now keep Windows or can now use Windows to use that.
it is agood idea that microsoft to take that decision,
