I don't like the term plus. I think they should be called "normal" models.

Ha! Good luck with that! Never gonna happen. How can they be considered normal models when skinny and tall has always been the norm in the fashion world? lol.

I do NOT feel that she is a "plus" size model though.

It doesn't matter what you feel! According to the fashion world, if you are over a size six, you are plus-sized. End of discussion.

We've got bigger things to worry about is this world than her weight fluctuations.

Then why are YOU on here posting? If we have bigger things to worry about. And don't you think we know that? It would be kind of depressing to think about it nonstop without a break from it, don't you think? Why don't you get out there and do something about it and let us discuss completely pointless crap in peace. Thank you.

I personally think this is the best she has ever looked. Not too skinny, not too big(fat). I can't believe some of you think this is thin. Not even close. You obviously do not look at fashion mags that often. She is not betraying anyone by losing weight.

The whole point of the story is that she hasn't lost the weight, they have just made her look that way with retouching. She doesn't owe anyone anything, but she has every right to be upset that they changed her image to make her something she isn't. And the fashion world's definition of "plus size" is anything over size 6. Not real world.

I think she is beautiful in both pictures. I do NOT feel that she is a "plus" size model though. If she believes that she is plus-size currently then maybe her eating disorder is back. She seemed more confident a few months back on the show when she had a little more weight on her.

  • Luran - 14 years ago

She doesn't owe her fans anything. She owes herself taking care of her body and be healthy (as all of us owe to ourselves.) If she loses weight, though, she can't be a "plus model" and I guess she has to "change" working categories.... She does look stunning with curves...

  • Ellen - 14 years ago

She has no resposibilitiy at all to her fans. She has a responsibility to herself. No one should be overweight. Anyone who is has the moral problem of no self control.

Good for you, Crystal. You look stunning with less weight. I hope you stay that way.

All other fat people need to get some backbone and lose thier weight. I'm a woman who's been up to 200 lbs bfore. I know what it's like and how ugly it is. And I lost it.

  • chel - 14 years ago

She has no obligation to anyone but herself for her size. HOWEVER, to say she lost that much weight by "hiking" is a cop-out and no way do I believe that's true. Her agent either needs to tell the truth or stfu in the first place and not spread inaccuracies about how she lost the weight.

She does not owe it to her fans to remain a plus size. She does, however, have a responsibility to not market apparel as a plus size if is she is not modeling a true plus size. I hope that whatever size she is, that she is happy and healthy.

    Fat people are nasty!

  • chris - 14 years ago

Curves are HOT and look good on women. The WAIF look is out. Bone thin women are not attractive unless you are attracted to adolescent boys or little girls. A woman should have some meat on her bones--not fat but nice curves.

everybody is entitled to do what they wish. But is she wants to loose her life by becoming anorexic that is her decision. I don't even know who she is

  • morgan - 14 years ago

    She doesn't owe fans anything.

However, a size 10-14 is NOT plus sized!!! Walk into any plus sized store and look for a size 10, you won't find it! A size 14 in regular sizing would be a size 12 in plus sizes--again not going to find it in a plus size store (or very rare that you will).

She looks fine (as in healthy) both ways. As traditional models seem to be very thin and probably have sub-healthy BMIs, I think 'plus' sized just means healthy weight, not obese as some people seem to think. As Lyd pointed out, at her height her 'thinner' appearance does look like a size 10.

  • eweyday - 14 years ago

that just means she can not model for who ever she was modeling for ..They will have to find another normal girl to take her place and she can now model for the skinny crowd.

  • Steven - 14 years ago

I'm gay and I personally think she was hotter as a "plus" size. Many women look absolutely gorgeous with curves, just like men with a nice mixture of beef and muscles are hot. Dimensionless women aren't very hot, IMHO. It's her body, if she like her look, then so be it, but she looks sickly being that small...

I want to see your pic Lydia. Please e mail me timcoyle@hotmail.com

She is 5'9" tall, and size 10 through 14 are NOT "PLUS" sizes! I am 5'9" tall and weigh 155 pounds and wear a size ten. When I was her age I weighed between 122 - 126 pounds. Maybe she is a bit smaller, but she has to be her boss, and not answer to a bunch of slavering fans! According to her Wikipedia bio, her measurements are 38 - 30 - 42. Not much different from mine! So, as a "Plus" model, she was of normal proportions for a woman her heights. Which means "Plus" models are NORMAL, HEALTHY sized women!
Crystal, stay between 135 and 155 pounds and you'll be just fine!

She has a responsibility to herself to keep healthy and happy. We as patrons of the products she sells have no say in the matter. As a large person myself, I am trying to lose weight and be healthy. This is for myself and no one else.

  • karen - 14 years ago

The only responsibility she has is to herself, and that is to stay healthy. Being thin does not always equate to being healthy. IMO, these photos of her rail thin are painful to look at. She looks like she has been ill.
It's her business what kind of model she is, but for her own sake, she should find a healthy way to get to a healthy weight and stay there. I know with a history of eating disorders, this can be easier said than done; but she owes it to herself to protect her health.

She really does look hotter when she had some meat on her bones.

It's a great thing she is losing weight. If she wants to change her body image then good for her. A fit lifestyle is the in thing.

She has no responsibility to anyone other than herself. Her responsibility to herself is to be healthy. No matter what the number on the scale reads. As it is for each and every one of us.

  • anne - 14 years ago

We've got bigger things to worry about is this world than her weight fluctuations.

  • Julia - 14 years ago

She just firmed up from hiking? Please, pictures don't lie. She has every right to take off weight if she wants to do so. As long as for her long term health, she has done it correctly. Unfortunately, in the type of business she is in that is not often the case.

  • John Stewart - 14 years ago

Dang! Who cares about her weight? Seriously!

  • mike - 14 years ago

Just because you're skinny doesn't mean you're healthy. You can be "plus" sized and be perfectly healthy. I don't like the term plus. I think they should be called "normal" models. She looked very healthy and happy when she was a size 12. She was smoking hot and I considered her one of the most sexually stunning women I had ever seen. She's not a normal size 2, very few are. She should be her average size (whatever that is) and be happy with it. Get your finger out of your mouth and live life to the fullest. All you people that go to the gym and work out 6 hours a day, eat nothing but a piece of celery and couple of carrots a day - you're still going to die like everyone else. Be happy with what you are, whether big or small, and if you don't like your size, change it. But do it in a healthy way, no binge eating to gain wait or gagging yourself to dump your last meal. Don't be critical of others who are happy with the way they are. Personally, I don't think she looks healthy at all now. If she's happy with it, so be it, but I preferred her looks at a size 10 or larger. As mcaudo stated, she has the right to be healthy - but sticking your finger in your mouth and puking every time after you eat is not healthy.

  • mcaudo - 14 years ago

she has the right to be healthy

  • larry - 14 years ago

I prefer her bigger. man, she was hot. so curvy, sexy, man she WAS hot.

and to the previous poster, how do you know she is at a healthier weight now? Shes way too skinny.

  • John Belt - 14 years ago

She doesn't "owe" her fans anything. It's her body and her life. On a side note, I have to say, at her 'plus' size, the woman is simply stunning in her sensuality and beauty. If she is not happy with her drop-dead gorgeous looks she has a real problem.

  • Daniel Drugich - 14 years ago

As long as her weight loss is due to healthy eating and excersise, she has the right to become more fit and avoid the risks of high weight. She better not be having the eating disorder back. She looks nice plus and in more healty weight she has now, again, she shouldn't use eating disorder to do it but better/healthy diet and excersise. She looks and probably feels alot better now if she has better nutrition and less weight to carry around. I feel motivated to improve my body ( I need to lose about 30-35 pounds of fat).
