    So? ???

I've got the V&H Stainless now. I paid extra for the lighter weight, and I like the look of the V&H. Probably would have gotten black if it weighed less, though.

What I'd like to see is something like the V&H version but with better tuning like the stock header has. The stock header is ugly and has sloppy welds.

While I agree that 'not' loud, with a good throaty sound is good, I think a lot of XR1200 owners would like to see a few more ponies with their pipe. After all, the only REAL reason for a new pipe is more HP. Basically, you'd go a long way if you made a good-sounding, lighter than stock, more horsepower pipe. If you made the sound level reasonable you'd be doing the entire motorcycling industry and lifestyle a favor. And if you made it look like it belonged on an XR750 you'd be doing the XR1200 a favor.

I don't want anything LOUD. Make me a pipe that has a deep throaty sound just a very little bit louder than stock. As far as more power goes, the XR is slow and even if you could get another 10 horses out of a pipe, it would only make it just a little less slow. I think most riders buy a pipe for the sound, not the HP.

Two into one, stepped headers, stainless steel. Plenty of room on the rt side for cornering ground clearance.

The bike is an XR, so the closer you can make an exhaust system that looks like the ones on competition XR750 flattrackers the better. Those are 2-2 (or 2-1 into a muffler can) high on the side. See any AMA mile or half-mile race for inspiration. If not that then a 2-2 or 2-1 that at least looks like a competition-style pipe - NOT something that anyone thinks is "custom". And please, *NO* chrome! Make it available in black and/or silver, preferably made out of stainless steel. Needs to make more torque and more power than stock, be *MUCH* lighter than stock, and with more cornering clearance than stock. If you can't go any of those directions then try some pipes that look like the ones on the old 1950's and 1960's Harley KR750 racers...

Make it look like the BUB's (high pipes) at 1/2 the price and 1/2 as loud with twice the power! And make it satin black. And no brake cylinder relocation, or at least include it with the pipe. Where do I place my order?
