By the time he would realise he needs to fight he would be dead.
I believe that an attempt would be made to avoid a fight. However , if Katherine were to become a threat to either Stefan or Elana and a fight resulted, Damon would win. Though he would not admit it willingly, Damon cares very much for both of them. The urge to protect ones' loved ones can add strength and courage to any battle. In addition, to add fuel to the fire, Damon is suffering a big hurt because Katherine never attempted to find him when she was not sealed in the tomb. The hurt has exhibited itself as rage. I think Damon would like to experience the taste of revenge. This could help him if there ever was a fight.

I'd have to say Damon. Yes Katherine is older and probably a more experienced fighter but never underestimate a broken heart or for that matter love. I think he would have to come to terms that Katherine willingly left him and no longer wanted him. Possibly that she didn't care from the start. After that I would expect him to be filled with enough hurt and anger to tear her heart out. You also have to consider Stephen. Would he let Damon face Katherine alone? If he was injured by someone or for that matter injured by Katherine and unable to help Damon, Damon would not allow that. He cares to much for his brother that much is obvious. So if He is facing Katherine alone because his brother is hurt then he's even more of a threat. I also get the feeling if Katherine endangered Elana then Damon would also become that much more dangerous to Katherine.

Sorry Damon, I would have to say Kathrine in this one. She's not only older than him but is much more menacing than Damon could ever be. Damon is actually hiding a calm and cool side to him and is pretending to be someone he isn't, so I don't think he could win...

As much as I love Damon, Kathrine is older than him and Pearl showed us a few weeks ago how much age makes a difference in terms of power. However I think that at some point a fight does need to occur...maybe Katherine attacks Elena and Damon has to defend Elena?
I think Katherine could beat Damon but it would be interesting to see if she would really fight. I think just the fact that he might choose someone over her after devoting 150 years to get her out of the tomb. I think she would be so shocked that she wouldn't know what to do.

Damon is super hot, and strong, but there is no doubt that Katherine would win in a fight. First thing, like Pearl once told Damon, Kat, has about 400 yrs on him. And, Damon is in love with Katherine, his emotions would get the best of him. ;)

Damon definitely! Katherine may be older and stronger, but Damn has his sharp wit, a century and a half worth of built up rage, and he's devious as hell. I also think he wouldn't hesitate to kill her if given the opportunity. She proved that she played him all those years ago, never truly loved him, and that she couldn't be trusted. I say kill the bitch! :)

I love Damon but he's only 1 and half centuries compared to Katherine who is I'm assuming as old as pearl who is at least 400 years old. I also think that because Damon loves her he would never actually fight her to hurt or kill her; whereas Katherine would rip his heart out without even thinking about it . I would love to see who Damon would save in a burning building Elena or Katherine?

my thinking exactly i love damon so much and i saw the whole reasons behind him so that his very evil side like how he treated caroline and snapped vicky's neck would be not justified but given a good reason so yes i say katherine cause she is older more exprerienced in her vampire life stronger drinks blood and knows all the tricks and also like another person said she could hurt and use damon's feelings for her sure he is positive he can resist now but what about when he comes face to face with her!
