The answer is obviously Star Trek. Three words for you: Bible. In. Klingon.

    Also, @ Janus:
While I do enjoy the good Doctor, I have to point out some flaws in your logic. First, just because your fandom used scarves/coats before any others does not make yours superior. It makes yours earlier. The two are not synonymous. Second, the quality of your chosen shows/books' items versus that of another does not automatically make the fans superior. The same is true of a show/book's relationships. The question is which fans are most passionate, not which series is best. In fact, your argument about Doctor Who relationships beating out Twilight relationships may actually be detrimental to your cause. There are a good number of fans out there that know the books are total crap but apologetically love them anyways. Most people, fans or not, would agree that Doctor Who has redeeming factors that make up for its flaws.

As much as I hate it, I think I have to say that Twilight is the most rabid fanbase, for a literal definition of rabid. I've heard of young teen girls beating the crap out of people who dared to not like Twilight.

I really have to say that my Doctor Who fandom is the hardest of all the shows I enjoy. As a group, Whovians have helped bring our show back at least three times that I know of and over a course of almost 50 years now. We may not have fictional languages, but we track fictional timelines AND their revisions. We made scarves and brown coats a fandom statement before Potter and Serenity, and sonic screwdrivers beat ancient spacefaring religions and their light swords any day. And even the romance haters in our fandom know that Rose's love and Captain Jack's crush are far far more compelling than any sparklebaby from the fad that is Twihards.

How many of these franchises have a subset of fans that can converse in a fictional language?

Just because the browncoats don't generally gather en masse doesn't mean we aren't hardcore >.>
