Are you listening to yourselves? Greedy people behing the badge? Im a firefighter an take a HUGE offense to that. Come on I know most cops are pricks but that being said, if your getting robbed or raped they respond and do the job most of you guys hiding behind a computer are too scared to do. Give the guys a little credit. The cities are running wild taking away things that most people consider a luxury, this is being fed to the public by the media putting a spin on all of it.

Do you know what a patrol incentive is? It gives cops a reason to do the crappiest job in the department...get in a squad car and patrol the crap streets of the ghetto and hoods, what would happen if you took that away? NO ONE WOULD WANT TO DO THE JOB!!! and than what? THE SAME ASS HOLES WHO RIGHT THIS BULLSHIT ABOUT GREEDY COPS AN FF'S WOULD BITCH AND MOAN ABOUT THE SAFTEY OF OUR CITIES.

Do me a favor, go to your local police station or firehouse and ask to do a ride along for a FULL SHIFT on duty. When your done id love to see if you still feel the same. The job is no joke, I could never be a cop its way to risky and frankly I dont think the people complaining about the officers of palm beach have a clue how hard the job is.

And also, if any cop from an outside agency works the detail, your a scab and contributing to the death of unions. This is a time when we are all under fire. Citizens elected offcials and FIRE/EMS need to all work together to save lives property and money.

These guys are only asking to keep what they have. No union should ever give back benefits won through the bargaining agreement. Ask any member of the AFL-CIO.

If you do not respect the police officers who put there lives on the line each & every day, then in an emergency call Mayor Frankel to come help you instead !

The Police are holding SunFest hostage? To my knowledge of this event has never asked for money from the city or any other entity the police might think of. SunFest is a charitable event with thousands of dollars going to local charities. SunFest has brought millions of dollars to our local economy. It seems that the police and firefighters have a great pay plan and an even greater retirement package as it is. I do not know of too many folks that would not love to have their plans and benefits. To hold an event hostage and as a negotiating tool just shows the citizens the true nature of those greedy "civil service" people "behind the badge"!

In this economy, most of us are not getting raises. Why should the cops be exempt from the realities we face collectively? Stay home. We'll get officers from somewhere else. What a bunch of spoiled, corrupt bastards they are.

Why don't you get some officers from elsewhere, then deputize one hundred people (maybe some criminal justice majors at PB State College) to be among us. Then the 'deputized' can just inform the handful of helpful police officers of any malfeasance. WPB cops will only try to guawk at the ladies, try to get laid, or just harrass someone that's just trying to have a good time. They can suck it.
