It was too early to run this poll. When you asked about Buzz/Facebook/Twitter, for example, all of them had been around for a while, even Buzz. The iPad isn't even a week old yet!
I figure, by the time I wear out my netbook, Apple will have released its second or third take on the iPad, plus there'll be competition. If I get an iPad at that point, it'll probably be a much better tool.

iPad = Apple, so I couldn't vote for it. Closed system. If the question had been to compare tablet form-factors with netbooks, my decision would have been much harder.
I'm a keyboard person; always have been. Although I succumbed and purchased an unlocked/jail-broken iPhone (for the apps,) I hate the virtual keyboard. Going back to my Palm III days, the first accessory I purchased for it was a fold-up keyboard. Wish I had that for my iPhone.
I'm betting that a hybrid will come out that is a cross between a netbook and tablet. You'll simply remove the display top from the keyboard bottom and use the tablet when you don't need or want a keyboard, but come back to the base and use the keyboard for writing blogs,letters, email, etc.
Oh yes, the other thing wrong with the iPad is the out-doors display levels. Very hard to see in daylight. So are some netbooks too, but there are some good displays out there that are great outside.

It saddens me that we even have to have this vote. it just goes to show that Apple could sell snow to an Inuit.
Why people would be willing to pay more for less functionality is utterly beyond me. its bizarre. a tiny bit of clever marketing and lots of media hype and the apple drones are immediately wandering are off to the apple store, bumping into things and mumbling about 50,000 apps.
Of course the Netbook has the best configuration (That also can be changed) and it´s not a property of just one manufacturer.

The ipad is pretty - nothing more. The netbook has functionality. Both need quite a bit of improvement but I think the ipad will turn out 2 b another temporary hype (unless the next version is vastly improved on - c flash, multitasking, and so on)
I have to get my hands on an iPad to know for sure, this can take a while since i live in Europe. But.. i want to use an iPad for (light) content creation. I think multi-tasking is a must for creating. Even the demonstration video of iWork on the iPad seems too much hassle. So, at this point i prefer a netbook / powerbook for its diversity in content creation.
For now, I can do all my daily and office business on my netbook; the Ipad, while nice, is very, very limited in usage, at a high price. I do hope Ipad-like devices with better features and real usability (and lower price) come into the market, so it makes sense for me to get one.

Netbook easily. Multitasking, freedom to do what you want with it without Apple's approval, cheaper, not pointlessly gimmick, flash, and so much more.

I love Apple products so I have to go with iPad. I'm retired and don't use my Macs for anything except social interaction so the iPad works. Expensive but it's an Apple!

The iPad creates an experience I've never felt with a computing device. Quickly immersive where you forget you are computing. Granted there's tons of hype but Apple got this one right. It will be fun to look back in 5 years when netbooks will be virtually gone and tablets rule the day. There will be non-Apple tablets, but just like the iPhone, they'll all be trying to live up to the iPad.

Even though I opted for the iPad, I'm not satisfied with neither of them. I really prefer a TabletPC or a TouchBook ;-)
