Obama's offshore drilling plan is a ruse. He closed the Alaskan leases which had the potential for more oil than these new leases offer (do you think to get back at Gov. Palin?) and he didn't open up California or Florida. These leases will be held up by the Energy Dept. until they can pass all of the environmental requirements; hence, it will be 4 more years before they can start exploration. Obama did this strictly to look like he is moving to the middle to gain political points so he can promote his Cap and Tax legislation.
