The use of marijuana is under no circumstances and activity to be looked down upon. In fact, when compared to cigarettes or alcohol, marijuana looks down right attractive. Users may smoke once, twice even three times a day compared to packs of cigarettes which yield a much higher amount of carcinogens and create a chemical addiction. Simultaneously, alcohol remains legal despite the fact that overdosing on this drug can and has killed while a marijuana overdose induces... sleep? Ultimately the major factor is the user, but if alcohol and cigarettes are unregulated beyond an age restriction then why should marijuana have any restriction but age. The down and dirty fact is that the only reason marijuana is illegal is because the general public is misinformed and fearful. Let people decide for themselves.

Yes, its time america starts to understand how much marijuana benfits people. It is proven to be less harmful to the body than caffene if used correctly.
It saddens me that we still have people in this nation that believe marijuana is has harmful as cigaretts look it up people!
Tobacco product kill thousands a year, and its LEGAL! Marijuana on the otherhand has not caused a single death by itself and that's the illegal one.

Having said that, I would like to say what a way to liberate so many wasted funds and now theY can free those wrongfully imprisoned for possession of a God Made Plant. This stuff is called "DOPE" for a reason. Its "Recreational use" is already wide spread in CA. Pelosi is a good example of chronic dope smoking. This junk is also much more harmful than cigarettes and alcohol combined, but Stoner's have come up with all sorts of justifications as to its benefits. If you can't live your life without an altered perception YOU NEED HELP.

Smoking Marijuana is much less dangerous than drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. Marijuana is illegal because it doesn't have a huge tobacco or alcohol company lining the pockets of politicians. Marijuana, like everything else in life is fine...possibly even good for you in moderation.
Not only will the taxation of marijuana help the state, but also the money saved from not incarcerating so many low level offenders. Hopefully, other states will take notice and follow suit. It's about time...

A significant part of law enforcement exist solely to arrest offenders who are then released because the state can no longer afford to house them. While crimes are being perpetrated that harm people and their property law enforcement is busy justifying their jobs by rounding up kids smoking and selling marijuana. Drugs remain a criminal offense mainly to perpetuate a government bureaucracy that has an impossible mission, treat drug abuse as a crime and not a health issue.
