I do trust all of the concepts you have introduced for your post.
They're really convincing and will certainly work.
Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for novices.

Could you please lengthen them a bit from subsequent time?
    Thanks for the post.

    I agree with the above.

Beginning in September of this year, the insurance companies will no longer be able to: cancel your policy if you become sick, deny coverage to children with pre-existing conditions, set lifetime limits on coverage, place annual dollar limits on coverage, prevent you from seeing any available participating primary-care doctor as your provider, and make access to emergency care more difficult and expensive.

Later reforms include: ending the donut hole for Medicare seniors, allowing young adults to stay on their parents’ policies into early adulthood if necessary (a wonderful provision for my grandson who will graduate from high school next year facing an uncertain health future due to his Type 1, juvenile onset, diabetes), requiring that any new plans must include coverage for preventative care, and encouraging the development of plans that will provide better coverage for early retirees who are not eligible for Medicare.

These are but the first fruits of a health-care reform bill that will eventually dramatically reduce the number of Americans who have no health insurance because they are unable to afford our current ridiculously high health-insurance premiums. The bill seems more like a lifevest than a millstone to me.

Read page 1312 thru 1315 of the health care bill and explain how a new army, funded by the bill, has anything to do with health care ? Not to mention the take over of student loans.

Is definitely far from perfect but it has also good points

  • James - 14 years ago

What ever happened to " Of the people, by the people, for the people" ? I suppose our wonderful government will eventually complete the rewrite to be. " Of the politician, Buy a Politician, for large cash contributions." Perhaps there's a politicians for sale near you.

Its good to see that FOX has brought the liberals over to it's internet. Perhaps they can learn something about self-reliance, honor and dignity if they hang around for a while. We welcome the chance to interact and teach.

    GOD bless America !!!

If there has ever been a time it is now, get down on our knees and pray, pray for our freedom our independence from government, don't let those who fought for freedom die in vain, we are losing our republic as we know it, our country was built on our christian values and these values are under attack along with our constitution, we are at the bottom edge of dependence going into bondage.
    PRAY!

  • Betty Mauro - 14 years ago

This bill is unconstitutional. Obama is turning this country into a socialist state with this anti life, anti family and anti economy bill. The American people will not forget this come November. When we vote out the people who voted for this.

  • Roger Thompson - 14 years ago

    Whew,

Reading through the comments is yet another moment of illumination. There is a quote floating around out there in cyber space; I am paraphrasing, This country has undergone a great many trials, good and bad leadership and it can survive Obama, the real question is can it survive the electorate? Jefferson said we would get the government we deserve and if the many here who reflect an unimaginable ignorance of our constitution and history, of what we have fought and died for are truly representative of the populace I'd say it is time to drain the swamp. The clear lack of ability by many here to take part in civil discourse, express themselves without meaningless vulgarities, yet alone with complete thought is further confirmation of the failure of the public school system.

This should not be a Republican or Democrat issue. This clearly is a constitutional issue. It definitely is not about health reform and anyone would understand this if they took the time to examine many of the key provisions within the legislation. This is clearly a power grab, the likes of which has never been seen in this country before. It has used a highly emotional issue for the vehicle while capitalizing on obvious ignorance. It's intentions are unmistakable and that is the undermining of the financial stability of this country. The office of the CBO has scored this at 970 billion dollars plus on what they have seen. This begs the question when has the government ever got it right when it came to cost estimations? The probability is it will be three times that. What the CBO had not seen was the reconciliation bill. The tax increases in that legislation is staggering. If anyone is paying attention several major corporations yesterday made it clear the impact it is going to have on them and what it would mean to profitability and ultimately employment. If we thought the last ten years had seen a lot of business fleeing the US get ready for another and even larger round coming up! We at this time have closed the chapter on a Republic and transferred the focus to a socialist state with the mandate everyone has to have health insurance.

So much more good be said but I doubt this is the audience to take the time with. I have lived and traveled through some 40 countries in agricultural research. I have seen the collapse of three countries up front and personal, have seen the impact of hyperinflation and misery it brings to individuals and their families. Maybe that is what it is going to take here before larger numbers have any idea of what they are or will have lost. The individual presently in the White House have every intent of making that opportunity possible if he and his lackeys are not curtailed.

Well this should draw out another round of foul mouthed souls. For all I have seen and been able to take part in I could never have imagined a day when we would become ever so hedonistic and narcissistic. God have mercy on us.

  • Leonardo - 14 years ago

You can tell that most of these comments, on both sides, are based on anything but facts....too much emotion, personal reactions to the legislation. Why not keep trying till we can agree what's best for our nation? Vote NO

  • Jeff - 14 years ago

This bill is simply a giant first step toward socialism that the liberal-socialists have always wanted. Don't believe all the hype about the violence we are hearing about. I'd say within the next few days it will come out that the left set this up with their own people trying to get conservatives to join in. Glenn Beck gave many examples of this type of thing on todays show. Remember, "necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom; it is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves" , William Pitt 1783, We have a socialist in the White house, we have primary elections coming up all over the country. Only 7 months till the national election. Stay calm, stay alert, and in November we will kick some of these progressive-socialists out of office and start the process of taking our country back.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."

American's didn't get upset when your country was torturing, illegally wire-tapping, passed the Patriot act, drove the country into debt funding an illegal war and failed to find Bin Ladin, but now you're upset that someone is trying to improve your poor health care system? Oh right, "socialism", as most American's loosely use the term, is worse than all of that other stuff and making a change to your country, regardless of its worth is bad bad bad because "it ain't the America I grew up in."

  • no - 14 years ago

    Dear republicans,

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
You didn't get mad when the Pentagon misplaced $2.3 tril...lion.
You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.
You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
You didn't get mad when you saw the abu ghraib photos.
You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.... See More
You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.
You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
You didn't get mad when we let a major US city drown.
You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.
You didn't get mad when the debt went up $5 trillion under Bush.
You finally got mad when.. when... wait for it... when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all ok with you but helping other Americans... well fuck that.

Just to let you guys know, this poll got screwed up by 4chan. On their site is a post that says "This thread has been running for the last few days. I would like to congratulate all the anon who participated in this troll fest. We've officially (expletive) their poll. Continue the win. http://polldaddy.com/poll/2936498/?view=results&msg=voted"

So yeah, it's messed up. I seriously doubt that these percentages are accurate now. Gotta love those internet troublemakers...

Obama truly is a forward thinker, I'm sure you will thank him in 6 years time...and If not you can think "I told you so" and have a nice smug feeling so it's a win win situation

  • Eric Baum - 14 years ago

Over here in the UK we have NHS which is taxpayer funded, If you are never ever sick then you might see it as unnecessary expenditure..But It's nice to know that if you need an ambulance for whatever reason you don't have to check your wallet first or see if you can afford it later on that's the last thing on your mind when you NEED help...but I don't know any different so that's kinda biased

  • Niggers - 14 years ago

    Niggers.

  • Angove - 14 years ago

I think it's significant that so many Fox viewers are in favor of the legislation. I would have expected a much lower percentage for a non-random sampling like this.

I've been a small business owner for over 15 years. The last couple of years I've had to struggle in this economy. Which is better? -- Layoff people or cut benefits.

A decent health insurance plan now costs over $850 per person per month. A lot more for family coverage. I simply can't afford to cover it any more.

My colleagues and I here at ACORN think it's a great thing. Personally (I'm not speaking on behalf of my employer) I think we can definitely trust the gov't to run our lives and take care of us. I don't know what conservatives are worried about!

  • Ian Peters - 14 years ago

The health care bill is great. It's not perfect, but it's the best things that's happened for America in decades.

  • Anonamous - 14 years ago

Obama is a hero to take on the corrupt insurance company's and the republicans on this.

They want him to fail at any cost including screwing over the American people. Shame on fox for using emotion to trick some of the dumber American followers into thinking this is a bad bill. Obama will go down in history for this as a true American Hero.

  • Lummy - 14 years ago

Obama is so awesome. This bill is great for the country and all of its population. You're all just scared because you know this country is marching towards a Marxist state and you know you'll get left behind with all the rest of the nonconformists and probably thrown into work camps. This is the dawn of a new age, people. You can kiss all of your out-dated American values goodbye.

  • Anon - 14 years ago

Maybe if all of us could look past our differences,
All of our problems would be solved.
Resolving the problems of this nation will
Be a troublesome task, of that there's
    Less than a doubt, but
Everyone needs to do their part.
Ceasing to see the underlying issues
Already is tearing us apart as a nation.
    Keep in mind that
Everyone is so paralyzed by their own
    Arrogant misconceptions that
Less coherent plans makes it through the
    Squabbles. Is it really
Only the few that really care about
    The wellfare of the many?
Healthcare reform is only one step in more
    Eventually to come.
    Get up, people...
All of us are in this together.
    Many thanks,
    Everyone.

I thought this was America. Why are we letting a voting process determine what government should be doing?

They should be listening to ME. I mean, as a population, we voted these people into office, but that does not constitute a democracy. That constitutes Stalinism.

  • Ed - 14 years ago

Yeah! I mean, Jesus always preached the ideals of "Let them fend for themselves, I'm not going to give out any freebies."

Repeatedly in the various Gospels, there are instances where a person is very sick, and cannot help themselves. And Jesus looks at them and says "tough luck, you got yourself into this mess."

So yeah, for all those people who can't afford health care (and yes, there are a lot of you), too bad! This is America. We're living the Christian life, which means we fend for ourselves.

Wow, I thought this was America land of the free! How can these people who work for US not listen to what we say? No longer are we free to decide how we spend our money. I am an RN that works in a hospital setting often with poor or lower income. These people making these decisions do not understand that the people they are talking about like to go to the ER because they do not have to wait like the rest of us for an appointment. There are tons of free clinics out there but people dont like them because they have to wait. This will not change because they have insurance! We cannot afford all this, I have two daughters in college and already pay a huge percent of my income in taxes. I may have to quit my job and join the ranks of the unemployed because they quite frankly have more available to them than I do. Shephard Smith stated today that this was going to allow kids to be vaccinated....hah that shows what he knows! Kids have been able to get required vaccines for a very long time for free or on a very low sliding scale for years at public health departments. This is part of the problem those doing the talking do not know what they are talking about! I am sooooo angry! I am shocked that more of America has not stood up and just allowed these people to ingnore the will of the people and make these devestating changes. I say, " Fire them all!"

  • John - 14 years ago

What's this about a health bill?!

  • Alex - 14 years ago

Finally the US can start to catch up with the rest of the developed world in terms of basic decency towards it's poorest citizens. This bill will save lives and money, and if you are against it you are either pathetically selfish or ignorant. This bill will speak for itself and in six years republicans will trying to claim that they wanted this bill.

Whats the bet that when that day comes Fox "news" forgets this repugnant display from the republicans.

  • Dan R - 14 years ago

No, this is bill no where near the reform it is touted to be. Its implementation will not stem rising costs. Quite the contrary it will add costs and taxes while reducing the quality and quantity of available services for the vast majority of Americans (e.g. mamograms denied until age 50 for women). The current Medicaid system could have been expanded to address the uninsured and lifetime/yearly caps could have removed with a bill that targeted those and other key areas. This is not an overhaul and it will result in a degradation of the core health services most Americans have known and depended on for survival: a gigantic step backward for all Americans not a step forward for anyone. If the plan is so grand why is Congress not joining the people and accepting this new 'medical world order'? Because they're greedy and smart enough to be afraid, not stupid nor willing to endanger their own families. We the people are the sacrifical lambs.

  • Pamela Osborne - 14 years ago

Shame on the Democrats for not listening to America! People will not forget come November...Democrats will be out. This bill not only attacks our freedom but it is going to put an enourmous burden on our children and grandchildren. Shame on you Mr President!!!
