It isn't as easy as Karen claims for private schools, especially in this economy. Public schools will have a core group of players no matter what. Privates need to recruit just so they have a team every year. Besides this has been a tradition for a long time now and it would take a lot away from the tournament to ban privates. Public schools just need to step up and stop complaining.

When are the private schools going to have their own league? It isn't fair that the public schools have to compete against private schools, since the public schools can't recruit. The public schools can only have kids on their team that live in the boundaries of the district. However, private schools can draw from anywhere. If the public schools have to compete against the private schools, then the athletes should be able to pick which public school they want to attend? I know for a fact, that many athletes attend Holy Names because they picked which school would have the best girls basketball team! If we are expected to compete with the private schools,then we should be able to attend any public school , so we can stack a team also!
