We should use the revenue that gas taxes and truck diesel and road use taxes for the roads as they were ment . Instead of the misallocation that been done for years. As a trucker we pay alot of taxes on the same fuel plus a $500 a truck road use fee. So weres the money?

My husband and I travel frequently across New York, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. It IS a PLEASURE to get off MIchigan highways and use other state roads that are in so much better condition that Michigan. I do not mind in the least to pay the toll for the use of roads that don't take out my tires and muffler system. We are a huge tourism state, if we had a toll on the state borders where I-94, I-75, and I-69 come in to Michigan, we could capitalize on the tourists to help us pay for our roads and rest areas. It is a good idea and long time coming. Have the people that use them pay for them. It makes cents!

How will the toll roads be funded? I looked at an official Michigan DOT map and found just under one hundred (100)
interchanges on I-94 alone, between the Indiana border and Port Huron. How about the north and southbound
    E ways.

Lower the weight limit to the national average of 80,000 lbs. Charge much more for exceeding this in the form of permits.
In addition: As an average household must live withen there meens so should All forms of goverment. It is not possible to print money or demand or even right to ask your neighbor to conttribute to ones personel well being so that you may maintain a life style or image that is beyond your meens. For some reason Federal, state or even local governments do not understand this. It is called living withen your budget ! To feel free to ask or in some cases demand more and more as the american family is trying just to stay afloat and maintain a reasonable standard of living is ??? ( feel free to answer this in your own words )

    Thank You for your time
    Jerry

I say no to any straight tax on the consumer. We have tried taxing gas for years and then two years later we need more. When is enough, enough? I would rather they take it out of the license fees. I would also like to see the MDOT CEO position eliminated and go with a volunteer citizens committee to help make decisions. The over head for that department is top heavy as is other transportation departments..
