Don't you agree that Apple's anti-consumer, anti-freedom, censorship policies are a disgusting affront to American values? How come Americans are not more opposed to Apple's long history of clearly unfair consumer practices?

I don't own an iPhone, and this type of tactic is exactly why I still won't, nor will I consider an iPad. I'm concerned that this may be the direction Apple takes in general with their products in the future. Yes it's "their" store, but when they're trying to make the iPhone the main game in town and doing a decent job of it, they become a dictatorship. Certainly if I want integration into my car or stereo or all sorts of other things, I pretty much have to own an iPhone or be left out in the cold. So either I can choose their "standard" that they've created and be stuck with only their puritanistic values of what I should or shouldn't be allowed to install on my phone, or I can be left without all the integration they've helped use to get themselves to this position. Seems deeply unreasonable to me. Either open the door to unapproved apps being allowed with all sorts of warnings and caveats for experienced users, or make a section of the app store behind a red curtain. But don't tell adults what they can and can't do with THEIR phone.

This comes from an Android user who has yet to install a single app on his phone that would be expelled from the Apple app store for these reasons, btw. But I will not tolerate a company that thinks they can judge the validity of my interests for me, as eventually they might decide that something I DO want on my phone is also wrong. Censorship of any kind, when there's no alternative, is not acceptable.

Any kind of censoring is a slippery slope. Today it's apps with R-rated sexual content (sort of). How long before it's a certain breed of thought that is being censored? Yes, the App Store is owned and operated by Apple, and as with any consignment business, Apple has the right to deny "show space" to anyone, without reason. On the other hand, consumers have a right to put what they want on their devices. This really seems to be a symptom of a larger issue that has been brought up before - what are the guidelines for acceptance/rejection/removal for the App Store? Apple apparently still hasn't answered this internally, much less made that knowledge public in a coherent manner.

I don't own an iPhone/iPod Touch ... because of shit like this.

You see, my issue is that manboobies are totally okay, but femboobies are not. They shouldn't be mutually exclusive.

ERGO POCKET GOD SHOULD BE BANNED.

Those apps were retarded! You honestly had to sift through them in order to see a real app. Although I'm sure the thirteen year old boys will miss them desperatly, at least the ones who are to stupid to use a browser.

I personally don't care, sense I own a droid, and I don't use these apps. BUT, that doesn't mean they should be taken down. There are plenty of R rated movies at thie movies that I personally find offensive. But that doesnt mean I want them taken down so someone one else who isn't bothered with it can't get to it. Some thing with homosexuality. I personally don't agree with it, but what right do I have to deny someone else whatever right. If its not actually harming me, it should be fine. Also its not like there pulling only very elicit content, things like the app that you used your own photo, and the browser that just saved photos should not bee affected. If apples gonna go by that stupid standarde, then they need to remove there own browser. (As many others have suggested before me)

This decision really doesn't effect me. I don't use those apps on my iPhone, so I don't miss them. What does steam me, is that I couldn't use those apps if I wanted to. Somehow Apple or Macintosh or Macs, or whatever the company is calling themselves this year, thinks that they are somehow protecting me (and everyone else) from something bad. First and foremost, I am the ONLY one that should have the ability to decide what I want to see or not see. Secondly, since when did breasts (or for that matter, the human body) become bad or something that has to be censored? Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen a child's head explode because they saw even ONE breast. Many kids live very normal lives after seeing the human form. The thing that I personally think is damaging is the rampant violence that is all around us. But, and here's the key, I DON'T WATCH ANY!
    Have a wonderful day! :o)
