I voted for Nixon. If you read his book "The Real War" you may have voted for him also.
And I voted for Kennedy, our other womanizing president in 1961.

In the book "Che" by Jon Anderson an author with no axes to grind he tell us that it was Nikita Kruschev who stopped the Cuban missile crisis, nothing to do with JFK.

Kruschev was afraid the nut case Che Guevara, Fidel Castro's right hand man would push the button on the U.S without hesitation.

David Halberstam's book "The 50's" was another interesting perspective on Richard Nixon.

Nixon wasn't well liked, even Eisenhower was cool on him but they used him because he could work both sides and get the job done.
That is quite a testimony when you think it.
