So whose effect is it?

I would call this the 'Adam Lambert effect' not because he did it FIRST but because his "interpretations of originals or previous covers" is the most WELL-KNOWN by most ppl. And, I must admit, "Ring Of Fire" was great and the first time a lot of his audience realized his huge vocal abilities. His performance of "Feelin' Good" sealed the deal for me.

IMO Blake Lewis' "You Give Love A Bad Name" was fantastic, mostly because it was SO-O DIFFERENT but still had it's own great sound. Blake almost got my vote.

Joyner's "Hey There Delilah" had a beautiful, heartfelt quality that I really loved. This is my first listen for this performance.

BUT Kris Allen's "Heartless" forced me to actually LIKE a so-called rap song--which I thought was an impossibility.

David Cook changed all his songs from the norm, cover or not, it was great listening to them...

Not only did Adam morph into the character of each song every week, he did so with IMMACULATE vocals and such CHARISMA. That is the Adam-effect. Hands down. His new Cd carries on that ability with such a variety of music, but all done so perfectly.

Blake Lewis and other AI contestants may have changed some of the songs they sang, but Adam changed every song he sang to match his personality and the mood he wanted. So, i would say that this is the Adam Lambert Effect.
