Maybe the city of Batavia should consider eliminating some of the useless bureaucrats, combine with the county and become productive and something to be proud of rather than a source of disenchantment that many wish to flee from. Taxes are more than outrageous. Many residents can no longer afford to own homes in the city. Jobs are at a premium, retail is almost non existent.
They would rather spend paid time at meetings forming groups & committees trying to find a solution. How does the rest of the country manage? Many other municipalities around the country operate with much less, and do just fine with lower taxes.
It s sadly comical why the powers that be can't figure this out! I guess their solution is to raise taxes (again). Hello people, you best start thinking outside the box.
