Should Speeding and parking fines be proportional to income?

As self-appointed spokesperson for a dealing desk of libertarian, anthropogenic climate change sceptical bankers who own gas guzzling fast cars I can tell you that everyone on my team strongly supports the idea of a proportional flat tax on this sort of activity.

Believe it or not most petrolheads get wound up even more than the tree huggers by the idiots who ignore parking restrictions, display no understanding of the highway code, and speed inappropriately. Particularly the rich ones who flaunt their money on oversized and overpowerer cars that they have no idea how to drive. Nothing would make us happier than to see these morons (in london mostly Eurotrash billionaire morons) fined millions of pounds for parking offenses.

In France if you speed at over 120km and are driving alone the police have the discretion to crush your car! Watch out on the London to Calais toll road if your are late for a ferry - they time you!

I agree, NO ONE has the RIGHT to drive a motored vehicle.... We all, ONLY, have the PRIVILEGE of driving a motored vehicle; and a privilege has to be earned!!! Speeders, tailgaters, reckless (distracted by phone, text, eating/drinking, disciplining, etc) drivers, are a hazard to the rest of us who just want to safely, get from here to there. The violation fines are not anywhere high enough. The police are over worked, and our taxes can't afford to hire more. I really want to see fines doubled or tripled from where they are now. If people were forced to police themselves, the police force would not be stretched so thin, and would be freed up to go after the really bad criminals. Common sense, common decency, and just a modicum of courtesy, would make a huge difference out there on the roadways. Thank you, someone who USED to love to drive...
