Hmm, I really don't get how H&H is rated as the most hated... It's the most easily accessible by public transportation... It has a much more diverse class of shops, in terms of high and low end, a much more affordable array of stores than Americana or the Grove... Yet, it is primarily filled with tourists, and as a third generation Angeleno, I sometimes feel more akin to them than I do most of the transplants, who tend to be a bit less real. It's not pretentious, yet at the same time, its the closest thing to a Times Square as we have... Summer jazz nights are awesome - and if I need to hit a Gap, Guess, AA, Zara - I'd prob hit a subway up to there... Though a bookstore is sadly missing...
