Seriously, Bush was no saint. The Patriot Act was the biggest single loss of freedoms in America in my lifetime. HOWEVER, Bush is gone and now there's another crook in Washington. Stop fixating on the last administration and concentrate on what is going on NOW. Closed door debate over this bill is certainly NOT TRANSPARENT, and Obama did promise transparency. Those lawmakers are there in Washington to represent Americans, and THAT gives Americans the right to see and hear what is discussed regarding this HUGE bill.

If they know that America is watching, I think they will be less likely to cut under-handed deals like the one they bought Ben Wilson's vote with.

I doubt I'll watch because talk is cheap, especially his talk and because of all the illegal stuff going on, it'll never be aired. He said a boat-load of crap to win the trust of Americans and by not living up to his promises, he's saying "Ha, Ha...SUCKERS!" I know broken promises are all part of the game called politics, but didn't he run on the promise of change? Change what? Change from Capitalism to Socialism to Communism or maybe from Democracy to Monarchy.

I know that Bush did many an illegal thing, but, as S. E. Hinton called her book, hat was then, this is now! Forget the past because two wrongs don't make a right! Besides, Bush's illegal actions started off as legal because intelligence said there were WMDs in Iraq, so we invaded to find them. Continuing military action was uncalled for although as a world power, the US has a duty to enforce that all of God's children are treated fairly. In other words, American exceptionalism which we followed through with to get Saddam Hussein dethroned!
