Bang The Drum Slowly came out in 1973; the cut-off, apparently, is 1974.

I would put The Sandlot third or fourth, but you're wrong if you think Bad News Bears shouldn't be on the list. They are both great movies. As a person who collects baseball movies, I am a bit surprised to see Benchwarmers, Angels in the Outfield, and Rookie of the Year on this list. I've enjoyed all of them at one time, and I have no problem with movies made for a younger audience. I just think that the Sandlot was much better than many on this list.

I can't believe the poll left out "bingo long and the traveling all stars".

how about Eight Men Out? one of the greatest true stories that ever happen to baseball...saying that Bad News Bears is still no. 1 in my books!

While I agree that "Bang the Drum Slowly" is an excellent, excellent movie, I still choose "The Natural" for the way it presents baseball as a Great American Mythology. Genius.

The best movie was not even listed as a choice: Bang The Drum Slowly

I agree Michael. I was looking for Sandlot and was disappointed to see Bad News Bears instead.

Voters say The Natural is better than League Of Their Own? Must not be enough women voters.

The Sandlot is no worse than second...why is it not an option?
